Its a tough call, but I guess its down to what he really wants from the car. The M5 is a great driver's car and always will be and you can still use it as a saloon, but then again its nearing the end of it's life and so it would be worth his while to wait for the newer model due later this year (i think).

I have to say that I prefer what you get from the big S-classes though, the big engine, the luxury etc etc. and so if he wants the driving fun from the m5, why not get the e39 m5?? Its still a great car and a lot cheaper so then he could keep the s-class and have a play saloon for weekends!

where did u guys hear the e60M5 is 7-speed
i dun think that is true


if u want pure luxury offcours u want to choose s500, but if u want high performance sedan with luxury then you should go with e39M5

Since the beginning of the discussion I was wondering why the S Klass vs M5... the S Klass rival is the 7-Series as far as I can see

the new E55 is fast but the older ones have no chance and no manual where's the fun in that
