From Car and Driver
Following quick on the heels of a special 40th-anniversary 911 model, Porsche announced in Detroit that it will produce a special edition of the Boxster S commemorating “50 Years of the 550 Spyder.” The company is, of course, alluding to the 1950s sports racer, the 550 Spyder that inspired the look of the entire Boxster line. (And yes, that’s the car James Dean bought the farm in.) The company will make 1953 (cute, huh?) of the special-edition model that comes with gray-painted 18-inch wheels, the same silver paint that is applied to the Carrera GT supercar, a Cocoa leather interior, a 3.2-liter flat-six making 264 horsepower (six more than the regular Boxster S), a sportier suspension tune, and some exterior trim changes. Porsche claims from 0 to 62 mph in 5.7 seconds, and a top track speed of 165 mph. It goes on sale in March for $59,900.

I'm really a BMW freak, but I hate Chris Bangle and I was starting to like Audis, but now they start making ugly stuff as well. Grrr...
