Bugatti Veyron 0-100-0 time (finally)

uhm...just_me im guessing there's a typo involved, cos ur post says:

1.4 2.8 5.5 3.4 9.9 Bugatti Veyron

so the 0-100 time is 5.5 and the 100-0 time is 3.4...combined, that makes 8.9, which would leave a professional driver 1 full second to notice he's hit 100 (which he's been paying attention to) and hit the brake pedal?

The worst reaction time I've ever seen in one of Autocar's 0-100-0 tests was around 0.7 seconds, and that was merely because the car the tester was driving was accelerating so hard that it had gone well beyond 100mph by the time he'd gotten on the brakes, thus, it was really a 0-107-0 test or something instead. If the Bugatti was still accelerating at it's ludicrous pace, then it's possible that there was a significant overshoot in the test. I still find the fact that a full second seems to be added in a bit ludicrous though, as that's a damned slow reaction.

The excess time is indeed the reaction time - its roughly the same for all the cars. Will try and scan it in later

OK......now I am confused because the magazine scan shows 5.5 to 100mph, a .2 sec reaction time and then 3.4sec to 0 mph.....that adds up to 9.1 seconds total unless I am blindly missing something!!??

Hhmm.. thats 116ft.. not that impressive actually... sub 110ft braking distances have been the performance norm for the last 6 or 7 years

Decent braking distance...although what I'd really like to see is what that braking distance is after say 5,6,,,10 successive stops...I bet those brakes would be cooked, 2 ton Veyron style!
