Default Dodge Charger/Daytona -- 2 thumbs DOWN!!!

I went over to the Dodge dealership today to check out the "Hemi" nonsense for myself.

I was looking for a Daytona without all the stickon graphics... and giving the Charger the once over...

Looks ok, sounds ok (needs exhaust ) - sits ok... but when I foolishly asked to look at a 6 speed version... I got the "they don't make them in stick because the semi-auto shifter is way better".

Bye-bye Dodge - you no buy-buy from me

I was really expecting the Daytona to have a 6-speed option... but I guess not.

Is it possible the Caddie CTS-V is first and last true US-born super sedan?

I think that about sums it up. Mercedes has really pushed their love for automatics through the whole DaimlerBenz corporation.

The CTSV blows Cadillacs image right out of the water. I'm kind of glad they are trying to lure the younger crowd in. Although i did see a little old lady in the Coupe version of it today guess they still have ome marketing work to do

That is really unfortunate. I mean, I was already disappointed with the design of the new charger, but come on! Whoever is in charge of these decisions really needs to test drive the foreign competition, particularly the germans. You can't make a "super sedan" and not give it a manual

Maybe Dodge just forgot how to engineer a manual since they first made the viper

I think it sucks in general that they would put the Charger badge on a sedan to start with

I can think of only three supersedans with manuals on sale today? the caddy CTS-V, the rs4 and s4, unless maserati makes a manual quatroportte, that i don't know about. but the m5 is no longer a manual, the rs6 is no more, NO amg benz's are manuals. i guess the modern auto industry is pussying out and installing auto's or flappy-paddle 'boxes on everything from vans to sport gt's. such a shame.
