Tire Blow Out at High Speed
Rear tire blowout at 150 mph in turn 4 of Daytona International Speedway. The car is 2003 Porsche GT3 RS, driven by Hal Prewitt.

I wonder what it was caused by? Worn tire? Puncture? Excessive Heat?

My guess would be a puncture from some sort of debris on the track. Thats the leading cause of flats in NASCAR races. I could be wrong though. Who knows.
I'd need to change my boxers after going through that.

I remember seeing a GT3 RS at Rockingham spin out earlier this year, he was soo lucky not to hit the concrete barrier!
Just watched the clip and chuffing hell thats a violent spin! I'm surprised the windscreen blew out as well!!

Pfff, he must be glad not to have hit that barrier! Thankfully it happened on an oval, my guess is it would be more serious had it been on another track with corners and tyre walls....
