Do people in your country or you wank?
In Russia it was very common to wink in the conversation as a friendly sign or when you make an ass from a person and wink to another person to help you out to do same and support you in doing that 
Its almost not used in Czech thou

I actually found the discussion on gestures in my world cultures very interesting. Apparently it is very easy to accidently send the wrong message. This is a case in point.
In America winking in a conversation is often perceived by others in the conversation as something shady is going on, or your kidding. The wink in this culture represents something two people are in on that other people arent privy too.

well Arman, we actually do wink, but it's not that common like maybe in Ruskaja Razpublika 
I think the wink gesture has the same meaning all around the world. it means something like you're take a piss of someone and giving gesture to the other person, that you're the funny guy or it could mean something like in "I Robot" - some kind of trust gesture....

When you end conversation, shake hands and wink its a friendly sign in russian meaning like "i am glad dealing with you" or simular.
