Default Austin Healey revival?

Krish Bhaskar, one of the bidders on the bankrupt goods of MG Rover wants to put life back in the british car industry with Austin Healey.

Under the name 'Project Tempest' he's trying to make a car based on the old Austin Healey. It's supposed to cost 25.000 pound and has to compete with cars like the BMW Z4 and Mercedes SLK. After a while there should be a whole range of sportcars.

Word is Prof. Bhaskar not only wants to build four new Austin-Healey sports cars, but also a Mercedes CLS rival under the Riley brand and some Wolseley SUVs. While Prof. Bhaskar claims money ($1.8 billion) is not a problem, the fact that BMW owns the Riley name and Nanjing Auto now owns the Wolseley name certainly might be.

All cars of Bhaskar have to be limited to 250 km/h. Even the simplest model has to go from 0-100 km/h in under 5 seconds and from 0-160 km/h in less then 12 seconds.

It doesn't look bad at all

It needs light weight and some power to do just 5s from 0-100kmh

Apparently there's a factury in the UK of Peugeot where they make the 206 at the moment. He wants to use that factory when they stop making the 206's.

I dunno if i like this or not. I really like the Healey's built in the 60's and i wish to own one eventually since they aren't that expensive and they're gorgeous. If this doesn't bring the price up on the originals then i don't mind and it doesn't look that bad. Hopefully it'll have an inline 6!
