Default South Perth gets flooded!

Well I'm sure you are all tired of car pics, so today I got you something else
What happened was that a big (over 1m diameter) water pipe burst just around the corner from my place and sprayed water everywhere and damaged part of the freeway on-ramp. I was at work during the worst of it but there was still a fair bit of water when I arrived.
When we got home our jeans and shoes were covered in mud - I felt like a little kid again

at least one person had an appropriate car for the conditions

this is the 'crater' that was created on the freeway:

this is one of the carparks, not sure if anything (cars) is under the water

the view from the bridge over the freeway - empty since the road was closed. We still got kicked off by the cops for some reason :x

and finally these are the people supposed to be fixing it - standing around talking

yeah he did, that pic was taken when he left but when he arrived he gave the 'crowd' a 'thumbs up' as he drove through Its good to see the car being used for what is meant, instead of taking the kids to school like most of them do

Sorry to hear about the flooding..

hahaha saw on the news, thought of you strait away..

awsome if there was a picture taken from kings park, showing the freeway covered in water!

i heard some of the freeway collapsed, so i think they will be working nonstop to fix it, but as you stated there just stood around and done nothing..

the cayenne is a priceless picture, also on the news they mentioned that some underground car parks had cars in them.. wonder if the water corp will pickup the bill... still quite unbelievable what happened.

and on Friday the 13th!

we may be on a big planet with diverse cultures and such, but some things are common to every country!

They did work through the night though, and I just got up so I will have to walk over and see what they've achieved
I might post some pics of the progress

Here you go - this is the scene at 9AM on Saturday (about 20hrs after the pipe burst) To me it looks as if the hole has got bigger

BTW, this morning I saw the actual hole in the pipe that burst - very big
