This is great news
I'm glad MB is only supplying the engine and the funds.
Just hope the new Mac is not going to look like those renders!

The picture ise just like the stupid project of GM.. No pedals n shit..

If McLaren wants a REALLY child of F1, I dont believe its right to work with Merc. Even if its just for the engine..

McLaren has anounced a lot of times that they can get ~1000hp from the S70/McLaren F1 engine.

Just make a better drivetrain, get 750hp from the engine.. veyron is dead

EDIT - @ mindgam3 - “It is being engineered using the original Mercedes-Benz components." this is tha part that doesnt let me think like you interpreted it. If it were ONLY the engine, probably OK, but components mean more than engine from what I understand.

McLaren has already teamed up with BMW to produce one hell of an engine for one hell of a car!

Nothing wrong with getting an engine from MB - just look at the Pagani Zonda... the secret is apparently to not let MB into the drafting room or the workshop...

I really wish Mclaren could sever its ties with MB and BMW could step back into the picture and turn out another fabulous engine. They could probably also help with chassis tuning in the process, something MB should stay out of IMO.

Yeah, it does. But they are not gonna be involved in the development as much as they were originally supposed to.
What's more, 40% are not the majority.
