Not true - companies run by astute lawyers, accountants and MBA's often make stupid choices.

Witness GM reskinning the same SUV for Chevy, Pontiac AND Buick - even though there was NO indication that Buick buyers are interested in one -- GM was just hoping to squeeze more cash out of the saturatedmarket place.

It is quite conceivable that Bentley could be just as stupid - witness VAG trying to make that silly Veyron... nobody wants one...

There are enough tasteless pricks and moms who do the school run who love SUVs and the ones with the most cash would undoubtedly love to have one made by Bentley.
The question is, even with this demand, should the manufacturer then build one? Then heritage steps into the picture (I'm glad you finally acknowledge that) and the prioritising begins.
However, I'm not entirely as confident as Bentley and VAG CEOs that they have a decent set of priorities and thtat the heritage is in no danger.

Hahaha, every single rap video will have one.

But most of you are right though, it is a cash cow, not much developement cost but yet lots of profit for every single unit they sell.

At the same time they are very late to the party. Last quarter was the first in the last 15 years or so that Ford reported a decline in they SUV sales (Expedition, Explorer, etc). I guess it is a fad that is starting to turn downhill, especially with the raising cost of fuel these days.
