also made some pictures, from the side, the car looks a little cartoonish, but
anyway hat's up for the young chief-designer, the guy is 'only' 27 years old.
cheers

The same here What's more according to my sources the Stratos WILL be produced in limited numbers. The power should be in the range of the F430.
|
I say it's very unlikely. First of all the Fenomenon Holistic Design of UK, as forementioned, as no relationship with Lancia. And even if it were to be made it won't have F430 like power. Fiat Group won't risk having its products cannibalise each other. That's why the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione was canceled, that it would threaten the Maserati 4200 range.

First of all, if this car is going to be built, it will not be Lancia who will build it. Lancia simply doesn't have the means to do it. When reading the news about this car and its creator on Italiaspeed and cardesignnews.com closely, it seems that Fenomenon is independently planning to develop this project a little further. One of the problems they would be facing in the event they would want to take it into production would be the engine. Ferrari obviously would refuse to supply those.
I doubt however that Ferrari would lose a lot of F430 customers if this Stratos is going to be built. An F430 won't be suitable for a potholed road or a dirtroad. This Stratos is designed for it. Fenomenon has stated that there are many countries in the world where road conditions make it impossible to drive any of the supercars for sale today. However, due to internet for instance, the people there very well know what great cars are around. Besides the fact that the F430 and the Stratos have a different character and would appeal to a different kind of customer, Ferrari will have little to fear. If the sales of the 360 (CS) and the order books of the F430 are anything to go by, Ferrari will still have far more demand than output.
One last remark, the 8C Competizione hasn't been cancelled. Its fate is hanging in the balance right now. We will soon hear whether it gets the green light or not.

I see. I'd love to see it become a production car...as long as existing details don't change, that is.

interesting concept, but I really don't think it does the Stratos justice. It seems like the concept has the right ideas, but the proportions look all wrong to me. the entire design looks too compressed, and as Iwan said, "cartoonish"
And god I hate those doors. Just cuz of that stupid bar right down the center of the windscreen.

Those of you who think it looks too short probably haven't seen an original Stratos. It has a very short wheelbase to allow for quick direction changes. The fact that the Fenomenon car has that same look about it, only means that they stayed true to the original.
In the end, it's a matter of taste of course.
