Well, it wasn't all a loss. When I and the editor went to pick up the car at Toyota, we took the new Golf GTI wich is in the office right now, to be tested.

Man, is that car fun to drive! The ride is phenomenal , the seats are great and the steering wheel is to die for.

Don't get me started on the sequiental gearbox the car has. It is FANTASTIC!!! The changes are soooo smooth and fast, it's crazy.

And the sound the exhaust makes when you change gears......man....I was really impressed with the car. I'll try to get it for a day and take some pictures. We'll see.

So I guess me getting the Prius evened out, because I got to drive the GTI

Toyota Prius:

1. Advertised mileage is a pipe dream.

In Consumer Reports road tests, the Civic Hybrid got only 26 mpg in the city—46 percent below the estimated EPA rating. But both carmakers and the EPA say the discrepancy is the result of the EPA’s 19-year-old lab-based mileage tests, which don’t accurately simulate real-world driving.

2. You might have to wait.

The Toyota Prius is currently the hardest car to find on an auto lot, with a three- to six-month wait list. Other hybrids aren’t as rare, but they’re still scarce enough that you probably won’t get any special deals.

3. It’s not about the money.

Even with gas savings and tax breaks, it could take you eight years or more to recoup a hybrid’s higher sticker price. You’d have to drive the Honda Civic Hybrid more than 140,000 miles just to break even with the cheaper Civic EX.

4. Resale is tougher.

Because the technology is still rapidly evolving, hybrids are likely to depreciate more quickly than conventional cars. To gauge what you’ll get in five years, check out the True Cost to Own calculator at edmunds.com.

5. They’re not so hot in the cold.

Toyota found that the Prius got 26 percent worse mileage at 20°F than it did at 75°F, because chemical reactions in the battery happen more slowly when the mercury dips.

^-- all good facts ikon. komotar isn't buying one tho, he's just writing an article and he already has the car

btw, that temperature issue is something that hadn't occured to me. i know batteries don't perform well in the cold, but I hadn't put 2 and 2 together. interesting

so, to have a good fuel economy and not to kick in the gas engine, you have to concentrate very hard.... what a funcking surprise!!!
you can save a lot of gas by doing the JC audi a8 thingy, and that's a very old way.

to close this, it'sa stupid thing, and to have a real hybrid car we'll have to wait more than 10 years

It just took me 3 hurs to write a 900word review. And I really had to
force myself no to be bitching about the loud engine and the "smaller than my lunch box" boot space. But in a wierd way, I grew to like the car.....

Oh, and I can't wait to return the car today. The girl working at Toyota is sooo hot. She's got the whole package. Face, boobs and ass. Black hair, sexy lips.......
