Salon de l’Auto de Montréal 2005 (*120 pictures*)
In spite of the 650 cars presented at this 37e Motor Show of Montreal, I was disappointed about the quality of the event, compared to others international car show. That is explained by several reasons:
Firstly, because the Motor Show of Montréal is in January, all the new cars and the concepts in America are at the North American International Auto Show and the Los Angeles International Auto Show. Secondly, the site of the car show (Palais des Congrès) is not the best place in Montréal. It's for that reason that Volvo, Jaguar and Rover Land didn't want to be present. Thirdly, the lighting was really horrible and the protection bars were too much close to the cars. Thus, it was very difficult to take beautiful pictures. Fourthly, the reason is more personal, but the stand of Porsche, VW and Audi was not really cool, a show room of dealership is better.
Ok, I finished the bashing against the Salon de l'Auto de Montréal, here the pictures that I took on 17/01/05. I hope you will enjoy some of them.
Aston Martin & Bentley
Audi/VW
BMW
Dodge
Ferrari
Ford

That gives the impression but you could sit inside the Legacy and the WRX STI, and play the Colin McRae Rally 04 game for free.

I wouldn't be complaining about a car show like this - 10 times better then the Perth show The Ferrari lineup is awesome - the 3 F-cars and a 288GTO
The Lambos are also beautiful....thanks for the great pics, I have saved many of them

Maybe not the best salon ever, but well, your pics are very good, and most important, there isn't a big ass crowd around the cars most of the time! Thsi is rare too! i already fear the crowd in Geneva
Oh yes, if you have time, go on and post the pics in the ultimate topics too

Damn, ImageShack's 195 server is down, so I can't see the Ferrari pics I'll come back later for those...
Maybe you're complaining about the show, but you tool some nice pics. I really like those Lambo's in unusual colours, like the blue Gallardo and the red Murciélago.
BTW, do you perhaps have anymore pics of the BMW F1 engine?

I can't wait for the Toronto Auto Show. The pics are pretty good. Did you use a tripod?
And the Ferrari lineup is the one of my dreams. All it's missing is a 250 GTO.

The reason why there's not a lot of crowd around the cars is because the brother of my friend works there and he gives me the access 30 min before the show was open. I benefitted of this opportunity to take pictures before the crazy crowd. I hope for you that there will not be too much people in front of cars at the 2005 Centenary Geneva car show in march. The main reason is because I want that you take nice pictures of the new Audi B7 RS4!!!

Unfortunately it's the only one I took. I'm sorry about that.

I didn't use a tripod but a used the protection bars to take pictures. This is not very professional but it's effective. This quartet of dream Ferrari is from a private collection. Surely from a people who have taste and of a lot of $$$. About the 250 GTO, seriously, we were supposed to have it, but the guy who has the 10 million of dollars Ferrari 250 GTO has canceled at the last minute. I was extremely disappointed to read this cancellation in the news paper 5 day before the car show was opened. In spite of this, the Ferrari stand was definitively my favorite of this show.

We can not hide anything from you Dani aka "Eagle Eyes". That's true it's a DB7, I don't know why is there. Perhaps a used model for the "show". I am sure that 98% of the people at this show don't know that it was an Aston Martin DB7. We are not of these.
