Default MiniPT Club 5th Birthday - Portugal

I, I make part of a club of Minis, and we organized a meeting last weekend to celebrate our 5th birthday.

Here are some of the pictures:

A few CooperS MkI, some of them ex-rally cars.

This car above has a 8 port engine, lots of ex-works material from the BMC division from the Monte Carlo cars and it's valued in around 40000 euros.

Most of the cars above are 1380cc, with around 90-100 bhp, with the red competition 1275GT Group2 having around 125bhp.

The Ford Escort is from the owner of a local MiniParts shop and it's a BDA 1600, that has a 280bhp engine.

For you that think that the a Mini is a piece of crap, we were at a local track, and the record for a car was from a Porsche 911 turbo (930) competition car. with a time of 45 seconds.
The competition gr2 (with lots of category limitations) did 46 seconds!

I have some more in higher resolution. Send me an email that I will send them to you.

bmwmpower... we have a member that has a Suzuki engine in his Mini but he took another one. But, for the example, the white Mini with the 8port engine has aproximately 135bhp and had around 150bhp when it was in race specs. So, there is no real real need for a bike engine!

Some lovely pictures there mate!, thanks for pointing me to this topic Lovely to see such cars in top condition, hopefully still being used as they were intended
My favourite car has to be this original looking Mk1

And as for that 8 port, squeezing that much out of an A series is a fine achievement without a turbo, supercharger or nitrous . I have to make
do with around 40bhp for now..... damn U.K. insurance
