Default the opinion of the chance of shapes of their makes

Due to many reasons, a make makes a decision of changing the shape of the family of their cars for sometime, having them a common resemblance, and pointing the design of the whole family in a different way from its predecesors, in fact, normally the changes are quite radical from the former models, and therefore, there are some people who think that the decission of changing the shape has been correct, whereas there are others who are against this strategy

Once there have been many makes who have changed the shapes of their models during the last 5 years.....id like to get a list from the other members which has some makes in it, and if their decission of changing radically the shapes are worth or not

Ill start making my list

- BMW: for me it has made a bad decision indeed, for instance i see hideous the current serie 7, the new series 6, the series 5 has become uglier.....A BIG FAULT
- Peugeot.....the 206 looks well,.....but the 307...and specially the 407, and the 607..NO COMMENT
- Renault.....the new Clio is a bit uglier than the previous model, the new Megane looks OK for me, the Laguna looks quite well, but the Vel Satis is one of the most hideous designed car ever.....50/50
- Mercedes.....the decided to abandone the traditional shape of a classic car,.....and they did well....the Class C looks better...and beautiful, the Class E is awesome, the Class S is atractive as well, and the SL looks even as good as the former SL....VERY GOOD WORK
- Ford....every model has nowadays the same way of looks as the Focus started originally.........and they look well overall....GOOD WORK

Lets see other opinions

Default

I think whether people like the design or not, car designers have to come up with new radical ideas that are going to push the boundarys of designing forwards because without this, there would be no progression. Obviously some mistakes will be made but I think generally, whether it sells well or not, radical designs are a must for any manufacturer wishing to keep up with the competition...
