There are quite a few 1megapixel phones coming out soon.

But my friend is using the Samsun VGA1000 right now and it is pretty good, but nothing compared to something like the new SE K700.

The a620 aka VGA1000 i have one in my hands right now from sprint , trying to unlock it for a friend , it takes very good pics in 640x480 and also has built in Flash and 4x Zoom .

For the GSM Carriers get the Samsung E715 , the same phone but smaller , sexier and better

No they dont have it , V600 were meant for GSM providers .

I was about to get that one , got a good deal for 330 dollars in ebay , but its too heavy , the screen is magnificent btw , so i decided to go for the samsung E715 , any feedback ? I am still waiting this week for my provider to send it to me !

TT HATES camera phones. None is the best, all of them are crap, and a PHONE HAS TO BE A FUCKING PHONE

Keep your old mobile phone and save the money for a proper digicamera, you will be VERY happy!

I don't use the camera on my T610, I have it because it's the best phone all-around I ever had... I totally agree that camera phones ain't no use to take pictures with!

Well camera phones are still a long way from rivaling digital cameras, and I dunno if they ever will, but right now there are phone cameras that are better than 3 or 4 year old digital cameras, so who knows.

Anyway, I know about these things cuz I've been developing vodafone live service for mobiles for 2 years now, it's my job you see. so i've seen lots of camera phones.
Generally speaking Nokia provides the best picture quality, and often the highest resolution too.
The Nokia 6600 has one of the best cameras as someone pointed out, better yet the first of the 1 Mega Pixel generation is already out by now, it's the Nokia 7610 and I've used it myself and it's very very good.
This is a sample picture taken by it, you judge for yourself:

What do you think ?

I think the pic is too big and I have to scroll sideways to read all the text
But, I agree, the Nokia cams are the best, except maybe for the cheap ones...
But who really cares? Who use their mobile phone cam?
