Default Logitech Z-680 & Audigy 2 NX combo problem

i'm getting problems getting digital 5.1 surround sound with this combo. i've turned off the decoder in Audigy device settings so it can let Logitech decoder do the work. i then select 5.1 in speaker settings with digital output only but it keeps on going back to 2 speaker setup. does anyone know whats the probelm is?

I dont think you should use the digital output with those speakers.

Just connect the three plugs that come with the speakers to the card.

The digital output is only for 8.1 or 7.1 from what I've heard but it doesnt make sense to me.

The best thing for you to do is turn on the decoder in the Audigy because Im sure its better, turn off the decoder on the speakers and use the regular speaker cables. Trust me mate, it will sound as good as with the digital output.

Both are methods of transfering data. Optical can handel much more data then regular coax.
