On listening carefully (3rd vid esp), i notice there were two dramatic stages of change in the engines composure. 3 stage variable valve system! (VTEC eat your heart out!).

why is he speeding thru gears on the dyno? Aren't u suppose to pick a gear and go thru the entire rev range?
|
Nope.. they do that in order to see also what is the cars max speed, and not only the power!
And don't forget they measure the power to the wheels!

You can hear the engine swap over to the different stages of engine management (cams + electronics i believe). It grows progressively aggressive!
You'll notice a deep howl (@23-4 secs), and then a sharp scream (@27 secs). So in essence, this beast has 3 ranges of drive whilst Honda's VTEC only allows for 2.
