Default Euro 2004 on BBC

The way the BBC covers the European Championship is way better than any other TV channel I can receive. I just have one question for our British members. Can someone explain to me why the size of my TV screen is reduced by black edges

Nono, it's not like that. There's a black bar to the left and the right, and on the bottom and above. It doesn't make sense.

if it's a digital feed your getting it makes some sense since they tend to fuck up in the scaling while converting to analog display... i get that when i switch my pcs to my tv but if it's straight from your... how do you receive it anyway? satellite dish? cable decoder? VHF? UHF? 'nyway, a digital decoder should resize automaticly... if not it's prolly cause... if it's a analog feed (antenna), then it's the retransmission of a digital signal and the only way to fix this is to call up the tech support of your local tv channel and tell them to do something about the decoder feed for their antenna in a VHF or UHF case. Are you the only 1 in you area with your problem? I would check with your neighboors... hope this guides you into solving this.

We don't even get coverage of Eiro 2004 on free-to-air TV in Australia, only on pay-tv which starts at around $AU 50/month.
