Default Who is killing off the electric car?

I came across this article about Electronic Vehicles (EV) written by an owner of a RAV4 EV. It is a VERY interesting article about his RAV4 EV which gets when compared to a gas engine, 166mpg (That value was calculated with the average gallon costing $3 a gallon, using $3 of electricty or 1 "gallon" of electricity)

Even more interesting is the fact that there is a big group of powerful organizations trying to stop the production/advancement of electronic vehicles.

I drive an 80mph, 166mpg SUV

Dan takes the EV to emissions testing OK, after reading the headline, you're probably now looking for "the catch". There isn't one. I drive a 2002 Toyota RAV4 EV. It costs about $1.80 to go 100 miles, and I commute daily at about 75 miles per hour without any problems. And if you think I baby it, I don't. Ask the bureaucracy over at the emission place when they made me bring it in, despite my explanations over the phone. They have an electric-vehicle burnout to show for it. (They loved it)
