Ljubljana,Testdrive RX8

Great car.
Not so many pics, becuse I only had the car for about 4 hours.

The engine just keeps reving and reving......

I'm tired and too lazy to write mora about the car....

The light was not so good and I didn't even have time to find some nice locations, so the pics are not as nice as usual....

This next pic is a bit funny
It looks like I'm going 291km/h, it's only 231 actualy.

I got it up to 237, but had to brake because of traffic....

m3mys3lf4ndi 11-26-2004 02:06 PM

damn traffic!!!!

BADMIHAI 11-26-2004 02:27 PM

Fucking aye! 8) I love the RX8 but when I sat in it the cabin seemed pretty cramped. It looked very well built and the details were nice. How was the drive?

komotar 11-26-2004 02:31 PM

It first seemed cramped to me too, but after a few minutes of driving, thats feeling disappeares.

The drive was excelent!

The car saw some drifting action, with me behind the wheel.
It's realy hard to drive fast and hard arround corners without the tcs's intervention, so I disabled it. On an empty side road ofcourse.

You can never be too carefull...

m3mys3lf4ndi 11-26-2004 02:41 PM

did U tried to drive one of toyotas - for ex corolla TS with the carina 1.8 (192hp) engine wich revs pretty high too - if U did - how does normal engine with pistones compares to this ??

Never tried the corolla. I don't like it, and that car isn't all that good.
I read many times, that the whole car is just too soft and has somekind of mellow feel to it. They usually compare it to the civic type r, and it allways looses by a mile.

This engine has a unique sound. It revs over 9k rpm wich is insane.
You have to shift alot, because it's reeeeeeeeeealy lazy at low revs.

Everything happens above the 6000 rpm mark.

I actually like the s2000 or the cicivt type r 's engines alot more.....

and thats what i wanted to hear :D
im talkin about toyota coz it was only road car that could rev up to 9000 and i 've test it - never had a chance to do it with typeR :( .......................yet :D

CSedl87 11-26-2004 05:54 PM

I've gotten to drive an S2000, didn't push it too hard (sales rep with me and cop following me  ) but it still moves, but like you said for RX-8, the magic happens above 6k. Thanks for the pics, and nice speed there...

dingo 11-27-2004 02:52 AM

Thanks again....another test drive to your collection. :D Where did you do that 237kmh....in Germany I hope?
I hope your next test drive is of something with 8 or 12 cylinders, and starting with F maybe. :P

Wutputt 11-27-2004 01:34 PM

Not as many pics as usual, but still some nice ones in this collection. But the main thing is you have enjoyed your testdrive

stradale 11-27-2004 01:51 PM

Screw the light, there are plenty of nice pictures you took. I thought this one was great!
http://img1.exs.cx/img1/4834/7300.th.jpg

I have read and seen a lot about this car and it all says the same, so I know what it is like, but I'd like to experience that engine myself some time!

detsan 11-27-2004 02:42 PM

Thanks for the photos; agree with stradale that was a nice shot.
Did you have much trouble getting the engine cover off? Mazda really have to throw some hardware at the rotary to make it emission compliant but damn they could have made it a bit neater.
It is like they finished the engine and thought "shit thats ugly , better cover it with a big hunk of plastic to stop anyone from seeing it."
Like the car though, nice to see in black instead of the usual red.

komotar 11-27-2004 02:46 PM

The photo with the engine cover removed was taken at the dealership.
