Bye Bye to the BM, hello to the xk8!
Well, we just bought a new car. Which also means that it is time to say goodbye to our faithfull BM. We borrowed a digi cam to take some pics so we can advertise it, so here they are:
first, the custom shot: http://img37.exs.cx/img37/4396/ourbmw007.th.jpg http://img37.exs.cx/img37/5725/ourbmw001.th.jpg http://img37.exs.cx/img37/3570/ourbmw002.th.jpg http://img37.exs.cx/img37/4921/ourbmw003.th.jpg http://img37.exs.cx/img37/8427/ourbmw004.th.jpg http://img37.exs.cx/img37/5687/ourbmw005.th.jpg http://img37.exs.cx/img37/3861/ourbmw006.th.jpg http://img37.exs.cx/img37/985/ourbmw008.th.jpg And here is our new car!! We went to look at it this yesterday - the garage was in coventry - thats a 300 mile round trip from us! Anyway - the car was immaculate, and the test drive was good - the salesman said he needed to "dust off the brakes" so he flooored it to about 60mph, and then slammed the brakes on :D :D :D :D I took these pics after the test drive. However, as i am very very thick, i forgot to take a custom shot, so i am totally happy for this topic to be locked off, until i can get a custom shot for when we get the car delivered at the end of this month (hopefully) The pictures are decieving. I think the camera is a bit dodgey - the car is actually phoenix red - most like a ferrari. Unfortuenately it looks maroon in most of the pictures. http://img91.exs.cx/img91/9348/ourJag002.th.jpg http://img91.exs.cx/img91/8369/ourJag003.th.jpg http://img91.exs.cx/img91/8731/ourJag004.th.jpg http://img91.exs.cx/img91/7488/ourJag005.th.jpg http://img91.exs.cx/img91/3500/ourJag006.th.jpg http://img91.exs.cx/img91/977/ourJag007.th.jpg http://img91.exs.cx/img91/9418/ourJag008.th.jpg http://img91.exs.cx/img91/1931/ourJag009.th.jpg mmmm....4.0 V8 155mph....mmmm http://img91.exs.cx/img91/841/ourJag010.th.jpg http://img91.exs.cx/img91/8195/ourJag011.th.jpg http://img91.exs.cx/img91/1111/ourJag012.th.jpg |
SUPER !!! I like it alot, sometimes it looks cool sometimes not, this one definetly looks nice. I wonder how this V8 sounds, i'm curious, i only hearded a our V12 of jag.
Congrats with ur car :P |
Nice car....but I think the sound is one of its flaws, but a new exhaust system could fix that.
Why didn't you go for an XKR? |
Re: Bye Bye to the BM, hello to the xk8!
Very nice Jagy. One feature I always love about the XK8/R and the facelifted modem of the previous XJ are those dails 'sunk' into the wooden dasboard.

Very nice!!
Have fun with the new Jag! Don't take it out too often... especially when you're drunk  |
Nice Jag!

thanks for all your comments. We had a look at an xkr - exact same colour as the xk8 in fatc, but the dealership just didnt seem that bothered in selling it! - We made the journey from our house to blackburn 2 times - about 200miles round trip, and they still didnt seem to be bothered. We even asked for a test drive (surely that must indicate that we were interested) but they made axcuses how it had no petrol in it, and that the battery was flat - we looked in the cra - and it started on the key, and had 1/4 of a tank! :D
Anyway, we decided to go for the extra security of a jaguar main dealer, and actually got a really really good deal. Although it aint an R, it still goes like shit off a stick :P |
congrats dude ..... looks pritty neat ... 8) 8)
|
I think it is the exact same version as my dads xk8!
4.0 v8 294hp! http://supercarfreak.net/gallery/alb...3816.thumb.jpg http://supercarfreak.net/gallery/album242 |
Sweet, congrats on the new car, far more comfy than the BMW.

Too bad for the BM ;) It would have made a perfect second car just in case :P
As for the Jag, it is very nice and pretty rare in red I think! Since there is no custom shot, I think we can move the topic in the "what you saw" section for now, sort of going around the rules LOL. I am sure it will be the first pic you will take once the car will be at home :D |

Nice car Tom, I'd love an XK when I get back but sadly I think they will be a little out of my price range, plus the insurance would kill me, even as a 30yo. THe dog'd just kill those seats too.

@Trans Am - thats also one of the reasons we didnt go for an XKR - the insurance is roughly twice that of an xk8 - even for my dad who is 40 and has roulghly 20 years of NCB!! Would of been nice to have that grille and bonnet vents though - plus the supercharger wouldnt have gone amiss! |
