ULTIMATE 1/4 Mile car!

ok it has to be street legal (in the sence that is can't be missing half the floor plan) it cannot have nitros, and it cannot be stupid and unreasonable ie: have 8 turbo's!!!

so what would you guys have as the ultimate 1/4 mile car and what would you do to it!!

(i wonder if someone will post my fav)

corvette97 02-24-2004 10:22 PM

vette LPE TT?

Kangaroo Boy 02-24-2004 10:53 PM

Pac Rotary Rx2,RX3,lol  ..What do you reckon of that Beaver? They are street legal.

How about a HQ with a blown 454?

Thrown in a stiff slippery diff, mild tub job (nothing non-streetable), a decent auto with the appropriate stall converter, and you've got yourself a car with enough weight to push the rubber to the road, as well as a donk with plenty of bottom end torque to get things moving nicely.

I seem to recal Street Machine Magazine build a 1/4 mile project car several years ago, and it was a HQ (or something like that). Everyone was wondering about the whole power to weight issue until the bastard ran a 10sec quarter (or something like that).

yellow_rice 02-25-2004 03:11 AM

yea vette's the way to go...
u only wanna go fast in a straight line. no car motor surpasses a vette. like a ZR1 or something

mcostalos 02-25-2004 03:27 AM

My Morris Minor Tubbed with a 12a Rotary Turbo (A 13b wouldn't fit... :( )

nchs09 02-25-2004 03:31 AM

how about a elise with 2 turbos... i dont think 2 turbos on it is unreasonable.. and the car doesnt weight anything so pumping out 300 or so hp with no weight would make it preatty quick..... of couse ill also be a conftreble car to live with, not just for racing :)

I quite like the idea of an R33 running a couple a HKS GT51's!!!!!!!!! As the exvitermini one was, but that was completely road illegal!!
There is a blue R33 or 34 on a high octane video i saw that is in newzealand i think, that thing was fuckin quick and was road legal!!!!

corvette97 02-25-2004 06:48 PM

Kangaroo Boy 02-26-2004 04:37 AM

Keir Wilson's OS Giken RB26DETT 3L kitted R32 GT-R ran 9.74 @ 144.5mph(road tyrers)..WRX 9.13 ET @ almost 150mph(dunno the owner is),Fastest Rotary is Joe Signorelli Rx7 with 7.58 @178mph

corvette97 02-26-2004 01:12 PM

and the corvette lingenfelter? it runs 9's right or 8's?

ibetipsy 02-26-2004 01:25 PM

how about a carrera GT, its straight line and it has my fav tranny (regular 6speed manual with a CLUTCH) it mite not be the fastest or the cheapest way to go. besides it would be FUN, i love that car

Sp00ln 02-26-2004 01:26 PM

One of the 8 second lingenfelters...

®™▪▪Łчяί 02-26-2004 01:34 PM

Id have to choose a Radical SR3 coz its quick, may only have 200 horses but weighs in at 600kg

JiggaStyles09 02-26-2004 02:05 PM

eh im surprised noboday has mentioned the tried and tested 5 liter mustang. dirt cheap, light and can be made into a pretty quick little car with not a whole lot of money. i mean we are only talking about 1/4 mile here. not style or handling or sex appeal.
