Need help on what to buy??
I'm having a look around the car market and need some help from people how have some experience with this.
As a student I want something that is good and economical. I been looking around and come up with these so far. Audi S3( second hand but quite expensive to run)Low probability. :D :( Audi A3 TDI (new model, new) Seat Leon Cupra TDI (150HP, new) Seat belong to VW now. :) Golf TDI :| 307 HDI :| Fiat Stilo JTD :? No chance: Focus,Citroen, Civic. I know everyone is going to say don't buy a diesel but i prefer to have a diesel than ask my parents for money to fill up the car. Another thing I need is reliability. I don't won't something cheap that runs for 6 months and garage. If you guys own one or had one before what's your say and would you recomend it?? Thants to all in advance. |
I'd say A3 w/o even think about it twice (since your parents would kill you if you'd buy an S3 ;)).. and about the 307.. now it begins to grow older, but the first waves coming out of the factory had many many little problems..
But well, the Leon is sportier.. and maybe for a 23 yo is more appealing.. the Golf V.. you mean the GT 140 hp version? check out the magazine scans.. there is a short test by evo and they state it is the best model atm... -> http://www.motorworld.net/forum/showthread.php?t=6763 |

Yes i'm a student.
May parents are buying and i'm quite good a persuading them  But the same doesn't apply to the filling up thing. |

Could you get a used sti ir evo? or a used m3?
|
the leon..... its new and it has decent power ...........
|
Crotch rocket if you can afford the weather, and storage incapabilities... go with entry level 600cc id recomend :-D
|
Does it have be a brand new car? howabout used? Used : BMW E30 M3
|
Well,
skipping the Peugeot and FIAT from the equasion leaves you with 3 makes and 4 types which are all built on the same platform. Depending on the know how and quality of the workshop you'll be using and all other things being equal I would go for the SEAT |
pick up the Alfa 147 1.9 JTD Mjet (140hp) don't think about reliability it's the best. For me looks better than new golf and A3 and the engine is very good i've tested it.
Don't consider the Stilo it's ugly and handle like a truck :o |
First thank to all for the reply.

At the moment I'm giving tracticality more importance than sports cars. I know it doesn't sound good but remember i'm so student not trying to break the bank. |
By a Camry...its the perfect car for everyday use!
OR a Maxima... |
Sorry I didn't see the word "economical"...
Buy a Japanese car, because of its reliability! Like Toyota Corolla... |
Well if filling up wasn't a problem I'd say S3, but in your case I'd go for the A 3
It looks nice, good reliability, economical. My friend has a A3 and I never heard any complaints, and he drives It like crazy  |
