Who really wants an S-Class convertible, really.
And it's ugly too.
The specs are same as S600

Well, the name's apt at least. Sooooo appropriate for this car. Ocean Drive... Let your leathery skin feel the fresh ocean air and cruise in style with your 18 year old wife in the passenger seat with your golf clubs safely packed in the trunk...

i don't like the rims :( but i think it will be a very good to produce it....a S 63 AMG convertible, why not :?: but it could be a car for official ceremonies

stmoritzer 12-20-2006 02:56 PM

was about to post the same pics

looking at the pics I would say - designed for the US market

to be seen in Florida

HeilSvenska 12-20-2006 03:34 PM

I'd rather see a CLS convertible, though.

LEXION 12-20-2006 03:38 PM

Doesent resemble the S ,,,its smaller , way more shorter than the original model....its an S-LK

chest3r 12-20-2006 06:52 PM

It looks very good IMO

But it would be rubbish to drive obviously....

rave426 12-21-2006 01:21 AM

Im not a big "non-AMG" Mercedes fan, but I have to say that that car looks the part. May be pointless to buy, but it looks pimp.

Stoopie 12-21-2006 06:11 AM

Looking good! That was obviously designed to be in my garage.

RAM_anderson 12-21-2006 09:09 AM

Don't like those bling bling wheels. Now it looks like a car that belongs to a black rapper

Sir_GT 12-21-2006 09:43 AM

It's a poor man's rolls royce phantom convertible.

franck bullitt 12-21-2006 05:19 PM

Hum...i would like to be this kind of poor man

Mattk 12-22-2006 05:30 AM

"Ocean Drive"? WTF?

Silly concept. It's not what the S-class is about, IMO.

Shinigami 12-22-2006 05:44 AM

So unnecessary... who wants it?

An M5 is uneccessary, Nobody needs it. Same goes for a Zonda, or an Enzo, etc...

Nobody needs them because they're unecessary, and some people don't want them anyway.

Let's all drive in a Toyota Yaris whilst we're at it

blue8 12-22-2006 05:46 AM

i've heard that since this is supposedly the S-class convertible, it is just natural that the s-class sedan will take design cues from this concept (ick) probably once it receives a facelift

Good point.

Although I have nothing against this car, and I assume MB know their target market, I still think it's a poor man's Rolls.

Sort of like how a Lotus is a poor man's Ferrari CS. ;)

But at least they are appealing. This car just looks dodgy.

I think you just need to see this car in a different colour. If it's in black for example, those rims won't seem so mismatched as they do now. IMO, the car looks a bit too ironish in this colour, but I think the model is still good looking :)

Mattk 01-01-2007 12:55 AM

^No. A four-door coupe is just wrong to me. The whole concept just looks structurally unsound. :?

Max Power 01-01-2007 02:43 PM

^^
what did they call that one?
