Nurburgring: Autumn Action - Last VLN-Race
Hi peeps,
Last weekend turned out very well for me. It already started at Thursday afternoon. Last weekend it was the last VLN-race at the Nurburgring and that's why I deceided to go for the whole nine yards 8) I went to the Ring on Friday and Saterday. On Friday there were the "einstelfahrten" and on Saterday it was raceday as usual. The Eifelmountains are stunning at this time of the year, to my mind it is by far the most beautiful season of all, although it also means you have to take an umbrella with you every now and then. That's why I want to share a few nice Eifel landscapes as well, it's almost as looking at a beautiful painting The weather was great on Friday, ideal to take nice pictures. On the other hand, Saterday turned out to be grey, dark and we had to stand a shower every now and then. But as far as I'm concerned, the pitures turn out to be ok :) I deceided to try out my flash again, I'd only needed to use it once before. One of my goals was to try take pannings with the SB600. Boy oh boy, I just love the results ... I was amazed with the shots that rolled out of the camera. Time for pictures instead of words :D http://users.pandora.be/jokke1/Photo...hateau_web.jpg http://users.pandora.be/jokke1/Photo...hateau_web.jpg Friday http://users.pandora.be/jokke1/Photo...oneatImage.jpg http://users.pandora.be/jokke1/Photo...8-star_web.jpg http://users.pandora.be/jokke1/Photo...%20GT3_web.jpg http://users.pandora.be/jokke1/Photo...-Star2_web.jpg http://users.pandora.be/jokke1/Photo...20120d_web.jpg Saterday The Land Motorsport Porsche won !!! http://users.pandora.be/jokke1/Photo...rsport_web.jpg http://users.pandora.be/jokke1/Photo...%20Cup_web.jpg Introduction of Schubert new race toy: BMW Z4 (driven by Hans Joachim Stuck) http://users.pandora.be/jokke1/Photo...hubert_web.jpg Schubert's 120d (driven by Johannes Stuck) http://users.pandora.be/jokke1/Photo...20120d_web.jpg http://users.pandora.be/jokke1/Photo...%20GT3_web.jpg http://users.pandora.be/jokke1/Photo...%20Evo_web.jpg Hope you enjoyed them :) Cheers |
Stunning pics !! But, what aboyt high res. This pics deserve to be saved in a bigger size
I loved the one with the crashed Porsche :D The Z4 M looks insane. I would love to hear the sound of these beasts  |
Great stuff.. the flash worked out great in those conditions. I think that will be my next camera purchase.. I'll have to hold off for a new lens till I start working fulltime again. Any chance for a high res version of the Z4M Coupe? |
yeah, VERY nice pics :D indeed, the crashed porsche and the Z4 pics are awesome, i also like the Land Motorsport porsche, it reminds me of the 935 era porsche races, with H U G E rear wings :D
btw the landscape is awesome too :o |

Great pics as ever Cowboy! |
@ all, Thanks for the replies !!!
Seems to me that most of you are fond of the crashed GT3 Cup and the Z4 :P. I have just putted those up on my server in a higher resolution. Porka: http://users.pandora.be/jokke1/Photo...sche%20GT3.jpg Z4: http://users.pandora.be/jokke1/Photo...20Schubert.jpg As far as I can remember, the first two images are made in combination with the fill-in flash. The driver's position in that Opel V8-star sure is extreme, he becomes the driver and the passenger at the same time :) A few races a go they introduced an Audi V8-Star and the driver was sitting in the same position. Unfortunetaly, I wasn't able to go due to some exams at work but I got rid of them ... finally :!: I will have to miss these races for the upcoming six months :? So, I need a replacement drug ... hope I can go to a rally which seems to be interesting as well. Cheers |
awesome pictures cowboy!
That VLN Z4 sure looks good... atleast they removed that radio-aerial on this one ;) ;) ;) |
that lambo pics is insane and i love the diesel could i please get some High-res of those if you don't mind. great great job my man.
|

Hi, Captain Slow :D Thanks for the words !!! Well, you do normaly need a press pass :D :D But I went on Friday 'cause I thought there might be a big chance that not all marchall posts shouldn't be occupied ... and I was right, so I could shoot under other angles with a satisfying result :P On Saterday I thought well what the heck, last race of the season, let's go for the whole nine yards ... So I asked a marchall whether I could take some pics from his place and I invited me over 8) Great guy !!! Quote:
I have shot with a D2x and a D200 before ... D2x is THA SHIT :P 8) :D I would never buy a D200 cause there is a D2x and D2h. And hopefully they throw their new D3h on the market soon !!! But when it comes to the lens, don't spend your money on a new camera but go for the fabulous glasswork instead !!! You will see, you will never ever regret it ... that's garanteed. This time it really blew me away, the results I got really putted a big grin on my face. I shot in really lowlight conditions there and if you look at how much light it still manage to collect which ment the pictures still turned out very very sharp !!! The Nikkor 70-200 VR 2.8 is best thing under the sun mate !!! BTW: Don't believe everything Dani says ... I'm not a pro photographer :D :P  @ all I won't forget about about the Lambo pic, I will post it in the future ... that's a promise !!! Cheers |
Quote:
BTW, i'll have time to think about it, no money after the 18-200 :hmm:  Thanks mister non-pro photographer   |
Quote:
I think the 18-200 VR is a great lens as well. The advantage that comes with such a lens is that you shoot at very low shutterspeeds = you collect more light = very detailed and attractive pictures. But I have a last tip for you :-) Try to order your lens in the Netherlands or Germany, it's much cheaper over there. I don't know where you are from. But here in belgium the lens costs around 2300€ as well I guess even more than that. I ordered mine via www.cornevaniperen.nl , I payed 1600€ for it a year a go. Cheers |
Quote:
Thanks for the tip, I'm from France and the price is nearly the same than in Belgium. No problem with warranty with this kind of website? |
Quote:
When it comes to the warranty; I haven't suffered any failures yet ... fingers crossed :) As far as I know, Nikon is very reliable and well assembled. If I would suffer any failure I would take it to my local shop and if they don't want to send it I will send it over to www.cornevaniperen.nl It's as easy as that. When (in europe) your camera refuses to work properly, they will send it to a repair and maintenance enterprice in your country. When on their turn they can't fix it they will send your gear to an even bigger enterprice in Portugal !!! We used to have a such a enterprice over here in Belgium as well but Nikon turned it down and moved everything to Portugal. If you take good care of your stuff, I don't see why it should be a problem buying your gear abroad ... but hey, I asked myself the same questions as you do :D Cheers |
Great photo's man, your work is top notch!
wtf is that an s-type jag touring car? lol, ive seen it all now... :o |
