I'm curious about what the passanger was saying. It sounded a little kinder than 'you stupid turd of a man.' Can anybody translate?

sikx5 07-12-2004 11:59 PM

i think the guy came of the throttle and the car flung around and he wasnt able to recover it. inexperience track drivers im guessing.

itsthepham 07-13-2004 12:23 AM

he probably did give it too much throttle coming out of that turn. i feel sorry for the ferrari. screw the driver. :fist:

Xploded 07-13-2004 12:28 AM

ha ha what a stupid driver lol

5vz-fe 07-13-2004 02:27 AM

Yeah, he suck....
and what's that "woooooof..." at the end.....if I were him I will be saying "FUCK"

Toronto 07-13-2004 02:33 AM

i think it was because of the traction as well but the driver wasn't, the term you are looking for is "riding the curb", but he started to spin out b4 he hit the curb, so your point is mute, as well the traction is not that much of a difference on the curb then what it is on the track, other wise you would see race cars spinning out all of the time.

he just didn't control the right amount of gas for that turn and with as much lock as he put into the turn, the car took a bite back at him, and spun him out

666fast 07-13-2004 02:45 AM

Seems to me that he was giving it too much gas when he went through the corner. To make matters worse, there was a crest mid corner. He went a bit sideways, put one wheel in the dirt and the rest was history. Too much gas and a quick change in elevation mid corner caused the mess.
Spinning was inevitable when he started to slide through the corner. The biggest mistake was not getting on the brakes right away. He slid quite a ways before the passenger started yelling "both feet in". So, either he wasn't braking at all or he was braking but didn't push the clutch in.

Either way, he stuffed one expensive car into the wall.

itsthepham 07-13-2004 02:45 AM

wow. these post are getting technical. haha

Toronto 07-13-2004 02:56 AM

i just watch the video again and he seems to loose control on b4 the curb, at 6secs into the video, you can here the engine rev freely as if the tires had no grip, it seems he tried to go flat out after the first turn in the video put it didn't work, and he was sideways over the curb 1 second later, i don't think if he lost control at the start of the curb he would of spun out where he did,

on the side i was talking about race cars in general, not just f1 almost all race cars ride the curbs of track

mindgam3 07-13-2004 06:10 AM

Agreed, hes dosent hit the curb before he crashes, he jus pushes the gas before he gets to the apex and therefor misses the apex which sends the car wide, he still accelerates though and was always gonna go on the grass but tries to keep it on the track n ends up spinning it. The grass probably helps the spin on, but he was gone before he touches the grass/curb

gdc 07-13-2004 06:29 AM

I think car is slightly damaged! :D

And great analysis of JW members!

imprezaWRC 07-13-2004 09:51 AM

oopss bad crash :(

Kostia 07-13-2004 12:58 PM

He just went on the grass and pushed the too much gas going out of the corner and i thik when he started to slide around the only thing to do is to push the braks for a moment and then try to face the car direction to go sraith.

right, and if it was when he went to the curb he barely touched it with the front tires and this is a rwd car, so therefore i dont think this traction difference will make the car spin in this case.

SilviaS15Cwest 07-13-2004 03:30 PM

Man, what a bad driver. He went to far out and hit a small bump and probably got one of the back tires off. You know your a bad driver if you crash a Ferrari 360 just trying to keep up with a Porsche Boxter....

sads 07-13-2004 10:50 PM

What a fool

ngudan 07-14-2004 03:50 AM

Firstly, ouch. That thing is expensive to the pocket and hurts the soul.

Anyway, from the looks of it, he was approaching the corner a tad too fast. After realising this, he reacted by lifting off the throttle which caused the weight to transfer to the front of the car making the back end light and hence the slide. Well what i'm suggesting is that the driver wasn't anticipating the car's tail to hop out and so, didn't counter steer in time. Bad luck!
