Damn, all these stunning cars and no classics? Why don't you venture into the classic ferrari market, magwheel? A 250 PF Coupé might just do the job

Here's a Quickie!
Well, after my turbulent last few months with selling and buying cars, I finally realized I needed some 'runabouts' I could spend more time in. :roflmao:
I really loved the Ford GT (but hardly drove it.... only 1000 miles in 2 years), so it just didn't make sense keeping her. And even though I did drive the Porsche 997 Turbo a lot more than the Ford GT, I just couldn't justify holding on to the Turbo when I could have the SLR in its parking spot! Being honest though, I also wanted to reduce the 'inventory' a little because I just had too many wheels and couldn't drive them all a decent amount of time. Having a lot of nice rides is great but having them, not putting miles on 'em' and only looking at them is 'assinine'! :silly: The SLR arrived on January 11th. Amazing... truly amazing! :shocked!: The Crystal Laurite Silver and the Silver Arrow Red leather interior is just 'unbelievable'! But... there are some things I'm slightly disappointed with. :-/ Some items that almost any one of us could have said, "Hey... McLaren/Mercedes... What the hell were you thinking?" Don't get me wrong, I'm very, very happy I got the car and glad I worked out the trade for her. She absolutely will be driven a ton more than I drove the Ford GT and maybe as much as I would have driven the Porsche 997 Turbo. Give me a few more days in the SLR and and I should be able to provide you with a pretty decent review and the comparison to the Carrera GT some of you had asked for. In the meantime, I'll try and get nthfinity to post a few pics of the McLaren SLR and her 'brother' in their garage. It's been raining here for the last few days so right now I can't get come up with some decent outside pics. When the sun shines again, I'll try and take better pictures to provide you with. By the way.... aren't those possibly the two finest pair of 'derrières' you've seen in a some time? Magwheel |
wow man, just wow
I'll gladly fly out to see you and ur collection  |
I always enjoy your stories and its nice to know you respect the cars enough to sell them if you arent using them. I know a lot of people that would rather buy and keep them just to say they own them and one up the next guy.
Cant wait to see some pics of the SLR :D |

Nice to see you help out your girlfriend's brother man! :) Everything on our truck is stock but I have plans on getting a darker tint, maybe them blue lights which look very eye catching and some big rims around 20-22's :) But my dad also told me that I must get this with my own money so.....I will have to wait a while.....or after college. Enjoy the truck and the new SLR man! :D |
Why get a Toyota, get a Chevy
|
Im glad to hear that the SLR arrived safe and well Micheal and that you are enjoying it much! :D
Take your time with the pics, sun is always better then rain  Looking forward to the review/comparision with the Carrera GT! Take Care Rory |
I can't wait for the pictures, bring it on anytime :D

Hi magwheel
comming back to your review of the Cayenne. You're perfectly right, this car drives like no other SUV I've seen. Awesome power, very good driving behaviour and massive brakes  Feel free to read my impressions http://www.motorworld.net/forum/showthread.php?t=46757 it was also a full black model, which looks gorgeous http://img174.imagevenue.com/loc563/..._122_563lo.jpg one thing, why didn't you took the rear "spoiler" in black too ??? http://img253.imageshack.us/img253/3...61cr8007ck.jpg btw, I used one of your picture for my new signature ("Cayenns Turbo S logo") I hope you don't mind  Cheers stmoritzer |
Review of the Cayenne...... SLR is coming!

No problem using my pic as your 'avatar' but the least you could have done was 'Photoshop' my balding head with a full head of hair :rainbowafro: or taken it out completely. The reflection in the backround almost makes me feel like 'Yul Brenner'! Take it easy, Michael p.s. HELP!!! I sent nthfinity the pics of my SLR and he it either out of town or has taken the next flight on the Russian Space Rocket :scatter: to the International Space Station cause he isn't around. I was wondering if there is anyone else out there who can post the SLR pics for me. I can send them to you in hi-res and you can downsize them or I can send them in 800 pixels or more. I would really appreciate someone's help. I have 6 pics of the SLR. Thank you ahead of time. Mags |
^you can send it to me
pm sent p.s.: modified my signature  |
 I always thought you had big wavy hair magwheel!
I can't wait to see those SLR pictures :D |

 damn that's an awesome combination! Have you decided yet what plates you'll put on it? :D Again, congratulations on the purchase :D

I can't see the pics.

 Damn magwheel, thats getting to be quite the awesome collection
Is that the "old" Lambo garage? So what do you have in mind for you next awesome car. |
As I saw the SLR pics, I started thinking what plate it will have and looks like I am not alone ;)
Fabulous car, there is a nice collection of Mercs in your garage now. Congrats. Could you compare a little the SL550 to SLR, how much they feel different and how they grip and so, I really would like to read the feelings that make it stand out from the little more ordinary Mercs (ordinary is so subjective with your cars..). R8 would be the next nice add-on to your fleet, should be okay for a daily driver too. http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/..._r8/index.html <-MotorTrend test, I just love that White <3 <3 A second choice for an add-on on that so nice fleet would be 997gt3rs, in white, of course ;) Too bad it is not as much of a daily driver as the R8, but I guess the kicks driving it would so much bigger.. Ps. 288GTO is my all time favourite of all cars ever made. It is like F40 in the most beautiful party dress.. http://www.ferraris-online.com/pages...E-288GTO-57715 <-who wouldn´t love a car that looks like that?(and goes like stink too) PPS, if 288GTO is the partydress version of F40, this is the Gym outfit ;) http://www.ferraris-online.com/pages...FE-F40LM-97881 |
Magwheel you just make me want to come live next to you so i can wash and care for your cars  you are a role model.
keep up the good work. |

Nice garage pics!
I was wonder, when you'll have some spare time, what about some custom shots of the new ladies? not because we don't believe you, but this way I can update the car registry :D SLR, S550, SL550, RR and if you want, the Toyotas too :D |
^ I always find it funny when you see those exotics with the manuals and the keys on a picture, it reminds me that they're just cars too :P Somehow I always expect something else than a key to start such a car ;)
PS Magwheel, I can't stand it that you're hiding your new plates still :P Can't wait to see what you came up with :) |
Some nice pictures of two fine automobiles, Michael. 8)

The "old" Lambo garage?
Quote:
I'm sure the fact that the garage is heated will make those two real comfortable in there especially on days like today when it's 26 degrees now with 3 or 4 inches of snow on the ground, 3-5 more due tonight and the temp is going down to 8 or 9 degrees tonight. :shocked!: I'm sure they'll start up nice and easy for me when the weather breaks! The Mags |
Grey supercars?
Quote:
Every time I say I'm done buying cars cause I like what I have, I freak out for some reason and go and trade or buy something new. :silly: Soooo, for right now I'm A-OK and have intentions of buying something else. I've only driven the SLR 5-10 miles because of the Ohio weather. At least give me a chance of getting bored with it..... NOT!!! Magwheel p.s. I don't think SLR 722s will be imported any time soon according to news reports. |

Woah Magwheel such a beautiful car collection you own there. Enjoy them all in good health. Loving the carrera Gt and SLR, why not the Mercedes Benz S600 instead of the S550?! You guys are lucky there, we still get the S500.
|
Mags, just promise us you'll never sell the CGT.

so this year is gonna be in the sign of Veyron and Zonda F? :D
just can't come up with other supercars you didn't own... :hmm: maybe Koekeokekoniggekoseokeosegg or how to spell the damn think  maybe Salleen, maybe Enzo, maybe some jappaneese like R35GTR, EVO, Impreza... or do you have anything else in your mind now, Mike? |
/\/\ A koenigsegg would be nice! :D
But then again it isn't my choice LOL Im wondering too just like Mihals Magwheel, any other cars in sight? |
Koenigsegg and Zonda wont be in the USA anytime soon, regardless of the CCX being made for the american market; neither company has the financial abilities to be imported while meeting any form of DOT standards; but may in fact comply with EPA regulations... The first zonda dealer may be near the Gulf Coast... if it arrives.
perhaps i'm the odd one out, but I appreciate Michael's collection for being what it is..... continuously evolving, and unique to any other collection out there. I feel no want to try and push this or that, as 99% of the user's here have nothing to say besides reading an article here and there. Sure, i'd love it if magwheell had each car that is my favorite... but would it be his personal flair anymoree? about that Super Carrera GT..... while that isn't likely to be named that... i've hearrd something is in the hopps and yeast in Stutgart... as a guessing man, that is still 4-6 years from production delivery... just a guess :p man, februrary can't leave fast enought... come on april! (skip march if it's cold too LOL ) |
Wish you all the BEST for your B'day Michael!!! I know I missed it, but I was at work that time, so I couldn't stay longer to write some :bah:
hope you got yourself some VEEEEEERY nice present and enjoyed the day!!! happy b'day again Mike!!! :D |
Thanks MIHALS!

The GF got me a lot of 'Mercedes' clothes and neat items. I don't know what gave her the idea I like Mercedes? I finally got the plate for the SLR! I hope you're gonna like it. It has some 'nostalgia' behind it from an old time Marlon Brando movie and I think it fits the car perfectly! Since you were the first (and only) :( person (individually) to wish me happy Birthday on the web, I'll send you a pic later on today (hopefully) and then I'll post it on the site. You have a great day yourself  and thanks again for remembering me on my B-Day. Next year is one of the 'big ones'. I'll be 60!!! So far, I think the only birthday that ever bothered me was when I turned 20. :hmm: It's been so long ago, I really can't remember. Not sure, but I think it bothered me because I was no longer a teenager! :drinking: Birthdays are like women in your life. 'They come and go' and you have some good memories and some bad memories. But there's really nothing you can do about it so just take both (B-Days and women) in stride!!! :D Mags |
Quote:
naw, congrats on your Bday! i hope you had a splendid time! already turning 60? hmm reminds me of my dad :P i'll turn 20 soon, so i think i shall take those words of advice you just wrote :D |
Magwheel just post the plate already! Can't wait anymore :P

again, not one CCX is in the US besides the press/mfr car making it's rounds... at least this was true 2 months ago last time I checked... any new videos of a new car on US streets? was it a CCR/CC8S privately imported? http://www.ecacp.com/inventory/produ...ils.aspx?id=37 Edit: Perhaps things have moved along in the last 2 months, i see one new car.. is it legal yet? |
Good to hear you had a nice birthday Mags..
Don't feel to upset, noone ever wishes me birthday too except my mum and grandparents so... Im use to it. Love to see the plate, I like marlon brando too! Rory |

Kinda have a neat idea for the plate intro but it would be nice if that 'white stuff' would stop for at least 15 minutes or so. :wall: Please bear with me. I'll do it tomorrow even if I have to get the SLR wet  with some snow flurries. Take care friend, Mags |
