571hp is more than i expected  I think this will eat an M5 in terms of accelleration!

YEAH hahahahah!!! dont think fellas, it WILL eat an m5. hands down!
but m5's 5 litre v10 is naturally aspirated, yet it churns out 500bhp, that amazes me the most. of course that is made possible with all those f1 tech, but still, that is one hell of an engine.
but again, audi rules!! hail audi to the max!! bwahaha.

I'm pretty sure it will since it has 4WD
So this will be the Gallardo engine with 2 turbos, right ??
That's a lot of power but I rather prefer the engine without the turbos 8)

This summarizes very well the (C6) RS6 motorization question. :good:
For some time the question was only to know if the new RS6 will have a V10 FSI biturbo engine of 5.0L or 5.2L. :P

I'm not a big fan of the M5, but 20+ more bhp isn't exactly going to turn the RS6 into some wundercar.
Let's see what tweaks they did for the handling.

20 more bhp?..i guess the M5 has 500hp...so the RS6 has 71hp more...and thats quite alot.

And how much weight??? Will those extra 70bhp be enough ?? :P

More like 70 more hp.
More like 64 more hp
Some say that the M5/M6 V10 produces close to 550hp so maybe Sir_GT had that figure in mind.

/\ Well..we are looking at solid engine numbers...so we cant say anything in perfomance wise..and I really hope that those twin turbos make a hell of adifferencee between M5' N/A and this..otherwise It will make audi looks..hmm...sorta pathetic. :|

great and all, but when you look at the big picture and notice the BMW can do 500 and doesnt have to use twin turbos, it doesnt make Audi look to impressive!!
(though I do favor Audi over BMW)
remember that the M5 engine is at a very high state of tune, and the Audi V10TT at a much much lower. Not only future reliability, but also the tuning possibilites will be completely in the Audi's favour....my guess anyway :P

571 bhp sounds great...the noraml s6 weighs 1910kg, im thinking the rs6 will weigh btn 1940 and 1970 kgs ( M5 1830 kg, E 63 AMG 1840 kg)with the addition of those turbos and other stuff to make it handle...unless they decide to make some of the body panels out of lightweight materials to bring down weight which would be a gr8 idea considering how much lighter the M5 and E63 are
it's been a really slow couple of months for new cars, i hope this rs6 will be a first sign for good things to come.

Best spyshots to date!!! No honeycomb grille for the RS6? I am very excited about this car but I think those rims should go.

World Car Fans:
ew prototypes for the Audi RS6 have been spotted in Germany, this time basically undisguised. Now that the car is free from the annoying black-and-white checkered camouflage, the extent of the changes over the Audi S6 are now clearly visible. The LED light strips on the S6’s front bumper have been removed on this RS6. New front air-intakes are larger, and they wrap around the front bumper allowing for some integrated brake cooling ducts up front. The front intakes are highlighted by low flares which continue along the side, between the wheels, making for a more aggressive stance.
The rear bumper has been reworked significantly. Large single exhaust pipes replace the S6’s dual-tip design, and an aggressive rear diffuser dominates the rear bumper.
Visual differences aside, the real story is in the RS6’s performance potential. Sources predict the addition of a turbocharger to the S6’s 5.2-liter V10 engine, which should generate something between 550 and 600 horsepower. Given this RS6’s nearly production finish, a debut this Fall at the Frankfurt Motor Show seems likely.

I don't really like it... the A6 always looked a bit fat :? And the RS version isn't much better. I rather prefer the RS4!

Hmmm... I like it apart from the fact that the last RS6 had wider rear flares. Flares are cool. 8)

Hmmm, looks good. But dont expect the new RS6 to blow out the M5. M5 dynos showed it has more than the listed 507hp (507 is a special number to BMW) and the M5 should be lighter. We'll see, but the RS6 does sound nice.

Am I the only one here not too convinced? Its ugly, its going to be bloated, its a huge engine over the front wheels, and it'll be a bit too much power. Give me an M5 or an E63 any day. :fist:

Too much power?! Nah, I don't think so. It will be heavy, so....
