China Streetsights(Update:Sep 30...)

hello dear friends! i'm not new here but i didn't post many topics so i believe HarryCASI is a quite strange name for most of you... i'm from Beijing China and i love spotting cars but i always feel not confident enough to post my pics spotted in China since all of your pics are sooooooo nice and China is still a developing country so there're not that many exotic cars here... but finally i decided to introduce my country to you because of two reasons, the first reason is that i'm sure all of you will be interested about China and the exclusive cars here, the second one is that i'm going to be in the last year of senior high school and there won't be many chances for me to do so.

and here comes the rules in this topic:
1,i will update this topic every week if i'm not thaaaaaaaaaaaat busy
2,all the pics collected in this topic should be
(1) high resolution (more than 800x600)
(2) spotted by me or my friends
(3) spotted in China Mainland (i have to declare that Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan are all parts of China, but China Mainland is more representative)
3,to give you a more all-around view about China, i will also give you some normal sights in China

my Chinese fellows, if you have got some great pics, please tell me and let's make this topic better and better!

it's a Bently Azure Mulliner (is it the Final Series? i'm not sure) spotted in front of the sheraton hotel in Beijing. it's easily the only one in China and the production of this fantastic thing is less than the Ferrari Enzo! i just spotted it 7hrs ago and it's the best car i've ever spotted... forgive me for the bad composition because the security guard was not that friendly and i didn’t get enough time to take some good pics…

Bentlys in China

Yesterday I posted several pics of a Bently Azure Mulliner so let’s go on with the topic of Bentlys in China… among the 3 top luxury car manufactories (Bently, Maybach and RR) Bently is the first one who introduced their productions to China （of course RR is more famous but the dealer came into China later than the Bently’s）so there’re much more Bentlys than Maybachs or RRs in China and now China is one of the fastest developing market for Bently. In the last year the sales volume in China Mainland is the 3rd or the 4th in the world (I can’t remember clearly). But sadly there aren’t many classic Bentlys in China since the rich in China have just come up in the last ten or twenty years, and most of the Bentlys are so common like Continental GT or Arnage. That Azure Mulliner is the best Bently in China I think.

SilviaEvo: you wanna know the story behind that pic? i got a phone tell me the track of the Murcielago from a friend that day. when i got there i found the Conti GT parked near the Murcie but obviously the Murcie is much more exclusive than the Conti GT so i just took dozens of pics of the Murcie and even forgot about the CGT untill it drove away... but it's just the right time to take some group photo haha~

tonight i'll update some pics of that MURCIEALGO and some MAYBACHs!

Lamborghini Murcielago

there're about 40 Lambos in China and most of them are Murcie, Gallardo or Diablo, there're also a few of Countach, Jalpa or sth else.
about 10 of them are in Beijing, but i have only seen this one :lol:

PS again: the 645Ci is quite common in Beijing (i can see about 4 or 5 everyday) but i like the background... i think it fits the 645Ci perfectly~

maybach is over price IMO

i sat in one before,, sure, the quality of the wood is nice, and the suede is nice,, but it is just 2 similar to a S class...

Uh, what? "Filthy rich" just means "really really really really rich" to the extent that you don't really know how to spend all this cash that you have lying around. Of course I don't think all the rich folks in China, or in the rest of the world are filthy per se. The vast majority of people gain wealth through hard work. I am also aware of the growth in personal wealth of many Chinese citizens, especially the emergence of a middle-class in the major business cities, like Beijing and Shanghai, and the creation of a business elite. I was merely surprised at how many everyday sightings there are of premium automobiles on the streets of Beijing.

to Mattk: that Range Rover is in Beijing and it has a plate from Tibet but i'm afraid it's fake... and it is really rare in China. that's the only one i've ever seen although i'm quite familiar with the Land Rovers in Beijing... my uncle has a Discovery II :wink:

Great sightings as usual, awesome panning shot of the Elise!

All the magazines and reviews say the S60R/V70R have 300bhp. If they really do, they would use that to effect and be the fastest road Volvo made. The actual figures are 0-60 in 6.6. Whereas my Dad's 1999 Volvo V70R 2.4 AWD 265, is the fastest road Volvo ever produced and in my opinion the best looking (especially in laser blue :) ) It is 1 0f 500, the 0-60 is 6 seconds flat and that fugure stands even when attacking a hill. After our model, Volvo have failed to understand how to make decent sports car again.

But just my opinion (and im not just saying that because my Dad owns the rarest :) )

I have been in a Volvo T-850R, it was an estate in cream yellow with black rims. The owner had it tuned in germany to about 310 BHP. That thing was inmense fast. 0-60 just under 6 seconds :shock:

So like you said, they really are serious cars. The one your dad has is one of my favourites...

Those volvos really are wolves in sheepcloths... :P

Pollution in major Chinese cities, like in many major cities worldwide, is quite high. Hell, a couple of weeks of not cleaning your car in a relatively clean city like Sydney will get it dirty.

Some good finds there, like the Porsche 930, or the Excalibur.

It wont take long before there will be more spykers in China. It is one of the most important markets for spyker. Only problem is that it takes 3 years before your car is delivered after ordering the car :(

yep that's about the answer... but sometimes the car will be used for a long time without a plate because the owner may have some special power and the police won't catch them... that Arnage may be like so i suppose... not a very fair phenomenon but that's what happens in China :(

Well this one has Vredestein Sportrac 3's wrapped around the rims, they're made for top speeds of about 240 km/h.. Can't see why the owner traded the Pilot Sports then, but then again I don't know the designed speed of the Pilot Sports. Apart from that, the Vredestein tires look better ;)

well if you are in Beijing i think it's because of the optical cable breaking down and it'll be repaired in this month. i have the same problem when i log on to my hotmail so what a pity... :(

thanks very much for your advice! i'm trying to use that site for uploading pics. and here's a pic i uploaded to a Chinese site so i hope you all can see it. it's spotted by CL55AMG and thought to be one of the most exclusive car sightings in Beijing. see what's in the pic! a Phantom, an Arnage 728, a Silver Seraph and a F512M in the reflection. those cars are owned by the boss of the best nightclub in Beijing and they are often seen seperately but i think this was the only time they were spotted together in one pic.
later i'll post the full-size pic with imagevenue if i could.

i believe the Thesis is one of the rarest car in China, probably there're only two of them. Lancia have never been imported to China, i've only seen 3 of them, all owned by the Italian embassy.

there're already 4 or 5 599s in Shanghai which have been spotted yet this is the first one in Beijing. :(

Well I understand that the licenseplate has to be visible from both the front and the rear.. So I think it's a great replacement for the 'real' licenseplates, the stickers at least don't ruin the cars aerodynamics!
