how much do thoese customize license cost in china?
are they like auction?
or simply go to government and get the plate you want?
normally your plate number is random chosen but sometimes you can get a "better number" trough auction.

Well I understand that the licenseplate has to be visible from both the front and the rear.. So I think it's a great replacement for the 'real' licenseplates, the stickers at least don't ruin the cars aerodynamics!

Because I know that they paided a hell of a lot more money than pretty much any other country in the world ;) (Except for Portugal, they have even higher taxes..)

Because I think that owner has had to pay even more for the car than in other countries, but he didn't care, he wanted that car so bad he just bought it anyway! And that's why it makes me proud everytime I see an exotic car with Dutch plates on it. Because the owners didn't give a damn, they wanted their dream come true, so they worked a little bit harder for it than the owners in other countries. It just gives the car something extra for me, those Dutch plates.

And if you think that I'm proud of our tax system and such, go ahead. But I didn't say that.

Remember that sticker are illegal. It'll cost you about 85 euro's everytime you get stopped.....

About visability. Why do you have to have a big license plate upfront, if with an american import the same car is allowed to get a smal licence plate (example MX-5 - Miata)

Well it doesn't make me proud that the owner worker harder for the car, it makes me respect it, but feeling proud is going a bit far...

And the only reason you are proud is because he paid even more for the car then normal because of our tax system. So some way or another you are saying you are proud of our tax system even though you might not mean it...

The admins of this forum should install VIPCODE hack for phpBB. I've had it installed on several forums so far and spam/bots have dropped down to ZERO! A very good hack which takes just a minute to implement.

Well I haven't driven the Turbo S, so I can't really say. The ML63 AMG has 4 hp less than the Turbo S (517 vs 521) so that won't really be the difference, but the difference is probably in the weight I guess. The Turbo S weighs 2355 kg and the ML63 AMG weighs 2210 kg.. If I'd go for the looks, I'd go for the ML63 AMG, it looks way more brutal than the Cayenne IMO. And the seats of the MB are just great, you're really being held in the car by them (ofcourse ;)), they just won't let you go! And then there's the acceleration of the MB.. That car sure is fast for such a heavyweight!

^ About that, the car that was behind me when I drove the ML63 was a Range Rover (supercharged) with another chauffeur in it. So I could've driven that car, but I got there first and I'm happy with what I got :D Anyway, he said the Range Rover was real comfortable to drive and of course had lots of power, but he said he really had to get used to the size of that thing, it's really long and pretty wide too..

so is the Aston Martin, there's only 1 Vanquish, 1 DB7 and 2 DB9 in China mainland as far as i know, but it's said that Aston is coming into China in 2007 to contest the fastest-growing market of supercars with Ferrari, Porsche and Lambo.

PS: there's a celebration of Ferrari's 60's anneversary here in Beijing the day before yesterday. about 20 F owners attended the activity, including 1 348, 1 550, 2 599 and many 430 and 360 of course but i was unable to be there that day... a little pity :|

Sorry answer is little bit late. I mean 996 and 997 series has its gt3 aero kit option. 996 and 997 gt3 spoilers are different but they can be installed on normal carreras. And If I am not wrong one of jw members has this aero kit option on his 996 carrera. And I guess he is PzGreen.

Yeah, that event is not open for public, but we got the advices form the ferrari stuffs.

that 360 is a normal version, and doesn't have F bumper, the F bumper is not crushed, the ferrari stuff remove it temporary, because they have to drive up this 360 to a transfer truck~ the front bumper is in a hindrance.

I see the chinese are not only buying brand new supercars, but also great second-hand exotics like this Diablo VT! shows that they are more into cars than we might think :wink:
actually it's not a second-hand car :wink: in the late 80's the first group of rich peaple in china started to buy exotic cars such as Ferrari 348, Porsche 964 or even Lamborghini Jalpa and Countach, but those stuff may not stay on the road till now so you can't see many of them nowadays :(

My late grandfather briefly owned a Jaguar 420 when he was a car mechanic and he was restoring a Jaguar 420 write-off for later sale.

What's the car maintenance like in China. The air pollution there is pretty bad and must surely make it difficult to maintain cars of any kind, let alone super cars.

well it's very hard to see a classic car in a good condition on the road of China, most of them are scrapped and some are stored in a garage if the owner really loves it. according to the recent law cars more than 15yrs old cannot be driven on the road but it's said that this rule will be stopped soon. who knows :roll:

i'm so glad to see you like them :P but actually i must say that this is not the right moment biking in southern China because it's damn hot :twisted: :twisted: :twisted: every day the top temperature is more than 36℃ and my arms got seriously hurt by the sunlight :cry:

You've made some very nice pictures, also very cool to see pictures from a Chinese living in China. In my opinion it's completely different to the pictures tourists make during a holiday trip and you can show us the China for Chinese guys. Very cool and good luck spotting more exotics.
