It is strange that none of the JW's members that like and looove football (not soccer :P) haven't posted something more about the World Cup
So, until now only one result that was a real surprise, Ecuador 2-0 Poland :? That result made a lot of ppl loose some money... like me!
the game was entertaining while I was eating.
Germany had some troubles with Costa Rica, but then CR was easy as a pie. Not a bad game, but it could get better.
sweden vs Trinidad & Tobago, didn't see it all the 90 minutes, but I was bored the whole 15 minutes I saw.
right now Argentina is winning 2-0 vs Cote d'Ivoir in a really entertaining game. Those "ches" sure look to be at the top 6 in this world cup.
I'm really expecting to see tomorrow's game: Netherlands vs Serbia& Montenegro :D Go NL!!!
and... Mexico, I hope they win against Iran, but it won't be an easy game :|
So... how do you see France and Spain? countries which have dissapointed a LOT.
any more comments?
no? then I'll postwhore here

thx for the support for NL 8) :) and T&T totally ROCKED :D i loved it, their (fans' )response when the game ended 0-0 was awesome, and the swede's response was LOL  :P
i think the netherlands should be able to beat serbia montenegro (BTW, would this be the first time a no longer existing state is represented in the world championship?? :P ), but i dont see NL getting further than the quarter / semi finals... i wouldnt mind seeing brazil win :) (OR T&T ofcourse :P )

Pfoh, with Cisse hurt during the match vs China (he won't be able to play for the next 5 months) and some "old" players (world champions in 98 but hell, that was 8 years ago  ) ... seeing them in the second round would already be a nice achievement compared to the last disaster in 2002 :bah:
The Netherlands have always had a nice team but never made it to the final since 1978; who knows ...

NL was my choice when I saw Marco Van Basten, Gulliut, etc etc play. That was a great NL team. Because countries where our teams will never reach the finals, have a favorite, you imagine Brazil, Argentina, Italy, France and other couple big teams, being the favorites of lots and lots of ppl
also it's funny to see S&M play when that country no longer exists with that name  but it is a dangerous team. All those balcanic countries can win over any european country and then loose against mediocre team
And with T&T it was a big surprise. I've just seen the match's resume and the red card... wasn't :? Leo Benhakker has really worked a lot with that poor guys,

I don't see France at semi, the base team is getting old. Zidane hasn't been in the required rythm in the last year. The rest of the team isn't the best in the last years
Also, Argentina has won 2-1 against Ivory Coast. good game, but again those hateful argentinian tactics appeared and in the first game :|

i liked NL's game strategy, but at the second time they only wanted to have the ball. S&M started to attack and looked dangerous.

Portugal with a win over Angola, which is no suprise but only 1-0. From a big nation like Protugal, they should have run over Angola..

mexico 3-1 iran. of course the mex team played like crap. I can't believe how those players that have an annual salary over 500,000 USD can't win easily over a bunch of amateurs and 4 real players  Now only very bad luck can prevent mexico to advance to the next round.... I wish
portugal didn't had a picnic with angola.
for tomorrow the best dish is brazil-croatia. My guess is a 3-2 brazil wins. It will be a great game, fav players!!
the other 2 games are italy-ghana (my guess is 2-0), and usa-czech.. could be a draw or czech wins 1-0

Me and him are going to watch the game live at his shop(he runs a computer store) wednesday.
I think its going to be a good game.
Ukraine is a very talented team.
Spain on paper is one of the best teams out there, no arguments, but Spain doesnt play so well internationaly.
I think its going to the game to watch.

Well, Portugal won Angola, but only 1-0.
By the start of the game, Portugal could have done the 2-0, but on the 2nd half they just didn't played nothing special...
But.. as Figo said... the important is the result. Let's hope they keep winning and, if possible, play nice football also. :D

Croatia was almost worthy a goal there, they had some really good chanches!
Brazil did play okay, but was expecting more.. a lot of passes that didn't go through, mess ups in def. zone and stuff like that..

Poland lost 1:0 to Germany, but not without a proper fight. Poland used a lot of strength in the first half so they were exhasuted in the second, but even so Jelen could easily outrun Odonkor, a player known for being the fastest in the Bundesliga. Too bad, the goal was scored in the 92nd minute :(

the refereeing is decent nothin too controversial maybe a harsh decision here and there nothin major though
and that "electronic decision taking system" has no place in football it will take some of the character out of the game!
some of the games' most rememberable moments are such because of an error some referee made for example the maradona "hand of god" incident it's part of the game - life ain't always fair why should football be?
and a quick word about the spain - ukraine game:
The Spaniards are overrated 3 of their goals were from set peaces (a deflected free kick and an unjustified penalty)
Ukraine played with 10 players most of the 2nd half
still Spain's 4th goal was class play but they suck and they will disappoint as they usually do… fuck them!!

well, back here after a business trip.
I gotta say that brazil dissapointed a little. Croatia isn't an easy adversary, but everyone expected more from the scratch du oro. Of course it was the first game.
and... what a game with spain-ukraine. I thought that spain would have a difficult game, but even "niño" torres goal was excellent as a team play :D . Now to wait for a good tournament for my very far relatives  (some part of my mom's family is from the basque country)
germany-poland, was a good game and I believed it was gonna end 0-0. Poland is the first team that fails in the world cup, they had an excellent qualifying tournament.
Ukraine is getting close to that

Have you even refereed a sporting match? I referee basketball every week, and I have refereed football as well. Sometimes, you miss things, and sometimes, you call a foul/violation that isn't. You've got to trust your judgment. It's all too easy to criticise people when you're sitting on the sofa, but I've only seen a few blatant mistakes. We have the benefit of slow-motion replays on the TV. Refs don't. It's hard to make correct split-second decisions when many situations are touch-and-go.

The reffing this tournmant is fucking shit. Period.
I dont give a shit that refs dont get a TV. It's not supposed to be an easy job.
I watched many tournaments, from anything EUFA to domestic leagues.
I never seen reffing this pathetic.
When they average something like 5 yellow cards a game something is wrong.
I've seen yellow cards on tackels where the challenger had clearly taken posetion of the ball on a side tackel and still got a card.
I've seen red cards for theatrics (watch Spain Ukraine).
Reffing is bullshit.....they are turning this game into hell knows what.

Yeah, the yellow cards count is a bit high, but it might just be something from a FIFA meeting where they decreed that everything should be a foul. Most of the fouls and cards I've seen were fair enough. In every competition there are a few dodgy decisions, but the vast majority of decisions are correct.
antonioledesma

so the referees are doing only crap... just say portugal-iran and there were a lot of kicks and fouls without a yellow card. Just remember the mark that an iran player left on Figo's face :|
a game that was expected that way, with not too many goal oppotunities. Iran had the plan to obtain a draw from this game and expected to win against Angola.
Now Angola still has the chance to qualify if they win that game and Mexico looses against Portugal :?
in some more minutes the match of Ghana vs Czech Rep. This last team will win, but it won't be an easy game.

Every card in the game Italy-VS was totally correct. Referee did a very good job. Off side seemed more of an issue.

06-17-2006, 05:56 PM
i disagree. the us was taking it to italy in the first twenty minutes when it was still 11 v 11. they were very strong in the midfield and were winning 80% of the 50-50 balls in that area. all italy could do on the offensive was hit the long through balls and the us offsides trap shut it down. i was actually very disappointed with the quality of italy's game... i felt like the us outplayed them, even with a man down the possession in the offensive third for each team was about equal. the first red card was well deserved. it was a flagrant, unnecessary elbow to the face and drew a lot of blood. the second red was undeserved. yes the spikes were up, but it was a play in midfield - no break away or advantage whatsoever involved. that is a solid yellow, NOT a red. ive seen many spike up tackles like that one and NOT ONE drew a red. finally, the third red card just capped off how much the referrees butchered this game. also not deserved. this is the world cup - three red cards just dont get thrown out like this. i was in absolute shock when i saw that third red card come out. there were only two questionable calls on offsides, and both were extremely close. its up to the linesmen and calls like that happen. especially with italy trying the through balls so often. if a team puts themselves in that position so many times on offense there are going to be a lot of calls. the red cards on the other hand, were ridiculous. the referee should be fined. all in all, i think the us played very tough, aggressive soccer. they won a lot of the 50-50 balls and did a much better job playing on the flanks and developing an offensive attack. italy could only try the long through balls - no creativity from their mid field whatsoever. also, if only mcbride had been in a better position, us would have taken it down 2-1 while lacking a man... very exciting game nonetheless.
its a shame that the ref's bad calls will affect the us in the next game against ghana which i think will be a tougher match than against italy. mastroeni and pope are both excellent players, and their actions did not warrant expulsions from two games of such significance.
if italy plays as lazy as they did today against czech, they will lose. czech is going to come out like gangbusters after such a loss to ghana.

the second red was undeserved. yes the spikes were up, but it was a play in midfield - no break away or advantage whatsoever involved. that is a solid yellow, NOT a red. ive seen many spike up tackles like that one and NOT ONE drew a red.
the rules say when someone is risking the health of the other player he gets red - no matter where the foul took place.
as i had said, ive seen tackles just like that one in previous games and they were all YELLOWS because they werent risking the health of the player. it has to be FLAGRANT to draw a red - normally coming from behind when no contact with ball is even possible. he was going after the ball, and for that reason alone its a yellow. if he were going in to actually hurt the player or just to keep him from scoring on a breakaway, then yes, it would be a red. but not in this situation. the elbow from italy was to hurt mcbride. the replay shows it all too well. he literally threw his elbow into mcbrides face. it wasnt there to protect him, but to injure another player. im sorry, but ive seen the replay many times, and i refuse to accept that that should be a red for mastroeni.
and i agree with a previous poster. way too many foul calls in this world cup. it completely ruins the flow of the game. i found myself yelling at the tv, DONT TOUCH HIM DONT TOUCH HIM, DONT FOUL, just bc it seems like a little tap, and someone falls, then its a foul. THAT IS NOT SOCCER. PLAY ON i say...

Goat sorry I call bullshit on the offsides.
Through balls till you die, its not like you cant do them. There where tons of bullshit offside calls for italy. A few blatantly obvious ones aswel.
They need to rework the whole offside deal.
They call it when the players are within an inch of each other.
I say offside only when there is a clear, half a meter + advantage for the attacking player.
These bullshit ass 6 or 3 inch offside calls kill the game.
Linesmen have butchered many games so far.

omg... it is by fifa's indications that you don't have to injure a player to get a red card.
just and example of this: If you try to punch an oponent, even when you don't hit him, inmediatly a red card is pulled out.
hope you play a football game and get hitted that way just like Mastroeni did it to Andrea Pirlo

first of all, your comment about "americans" is an extremely ignorant and unnecessary thing to say. you have no idea what kind of experience i have playing soccer and the injuries ive sustained. as far as im concerned, a cheap shot like that at an entire nation when we are discussing a soccer match shows a lot of weakness in your character.
second, i never said one needed to be injured, i said normally red cards require the intent to injure. either way, refs from other games would have given a yellow. its obvious this ref didnt know what he was doing. its just unfortunate that italy had to turn the game into a dirty one with that elbow. it just opened the flood gates as far as im concerned.
on the offsides note, no measurements involved, half a step or less is all thats needed - and i think the rule is fine as is. as far as im concerned, its the offense pushing the envelope too far, not the refs fault. as a striker you simply need to be aware of your surroundings and stay behind teh defense. when a defense is as good at timing their trap as teh us was its just up to the striker to anticipate that as well as the ball coming through from the midfield. as far as italy doing nothing wrong with all the through balls, thats true. you can do it all you want - as long as you dont mind looking like a U-14 team. i mean c'mon. this is italy here - show me something exciting from the midfield. go watch a 14 year old team play, all they do is bomb the ball to the flags just like italy did. whats even worse is after all the offsides, their midfield never changed their point of attack - they kept doing it! i was just disappointed. the us attacked from teh sides with crosses as well as up the middle - variation italy didnt show. and you know what - the us team made up of "fat stupid americans" as i always hear here held on with italy a man down for 43 minutes and had a goal called back bc mcbrides unlucky positioning. the us was the dominant team through 20 minutes when it was 11 on 11. and i have little doubt in my mind if it stayed 11 the us would have had a better result. i find that hard to counter considering they tied with a man down... hopefully you tivo'd the game or something, go back and watch the first 20 minutes objectively - except for the first 2 minutes, it was all USA.

Bullshit again on the offsides. The offsides were bullshit. Only when there is a clear striker advantage should they be called. Not when they are on the same bloody line or litteraly an inch between each other.
Nothing under 14 about that way of play either. If anything it takes skill to make a good long pass and and a striker to time his run. Because players have to read each other and time their running/passing well.
Been playing and watching football since I was old enough to kick the ball. Played leagues all my life and never seen bullshit like this.
It has always been a tough rough game, with a little shirt pulling and shin checking as part of the game.

so, if you claim to have played football, you know that foul by Mastroeni deserverd the red card, simply as that. Maybe he didn't want to injury Pirlo (no one wants to injury another player), but he left the foot up with the studs... and hitted directly the leg. Just unnecessary roughness and force in the play, no inventions by my side, only the rule.

ill agree with you that my statement about italy making it a dirty game is too far. its not true. but i think fouls like that - elbows to the face are about as bad a foul as there is in soccer. the game can get rough - but it should never turn into a street brawl. i dont have the slightest clue who glen beck is and he doesnt speak for me or the american people. he speaks for himself. the reffing was piss poor and i was yelling for someone from teh stands to snipe his ass during the game. i really hope he gets fined but that obviously cant happen. i cant agree with you more on your 4-6 paragraphs though.. i mean an automatic yellow for shirt pulling? give me a fucking break, with all the divers in the game i cant believe there havent been more simulation calls. i say leave the shirt pulling and make simulation an auto yellow... through balls dont take that much skill, a well paced ball to the corner so a striker can chase it down, isnt tough to do...
as for you antonio, ive played many games and watched many - so ive seen many tackles exactly like that one, and in my experience that just isnt a red card.
i think we can pretty much all agree taht for whatever reason, adn whatever side you rooted for - the game was butchered by the refs. i mean a 9 v 10 game in such an important match just isnt right - for either side. what pisses me off the most, is the ref not only fucked up his game, but the games after bc those red card players cant play... it just straight up sucks. its just a shame to see such a revered, respected tournament like hte world cup get mucked up by bad reffing... i, as im sure all of you were, was soooo excited for the world cup. the only sport i watch or give two shits about is soccer... and i see 30 fouls a game by just one side... its just a shame. but the teams have to put it behind them. the next two games from this group should be exciting - especially for those rooting for a team...

yellow card for shirt pulling because the defending team just used that foul to stop the rival team in every attack, it became so constant that it was annoying to see 25-30 fouls by each team.
red card for each tackle from behind. because these kind of tackles ended in injuries
red card for excessive use of force, even if the defender touched first the ball
at least yellow card for showing the studs
I don't remember a sport where pulling shirts isn't punished just with a "normal" or common penalty
it isn't a "rule" that a referee butches the game when the teams end with 10 and 9 players. It can show that the teams instead of playing all 90 minutes, only kicked the crap out of them.
EDIT: and having read some reviews from the game... all of the reporters agree that all 3 red cards were deserved

i dont know where you read the articles from. but be careful. all articles are spun and many have ulterior motives. any article with absolutely any connection with fifa MUST back up the calls. the federation has to back up the referees. not all of those reds were deserved. articles arent the arbitraters. i wish i could have talked to some of the other world cup referees freely... the answers im sure would contradict what happened. but thats my opinion. take it for what you will.

haha, i love how you guys arent cheering for ghana, but against the usa. did they hurt your feelings somewhere along the way? anyway, im gonna have to wait until someone puts up the italy game on mininova.org before i can watch it. i hate these side by side games... i wish i had two tvs.
id like to cheer ghana on in the next round against brazil, i just wish they hadnt been so shameful in theyre time wasting attempts. theyre starting to be as bad as teh south american teams when it comes to that bullshit. i wish theyd just play the game. dropping like flies isnt fun to watch, and i can only handle seeing guys taken off on stretchers then coming immediately back onto the field so much before i start to feel sick. pimpong fell to the ground one time late in the second half and wasnt even involved in a play! he jsut dropped to the ground, complained about a side stitch, was carried off on a stretcher, then came right back in. fifa should 1) be much stricter on diving, if a guy hits the ground because he let his body go limp, and theres no foul - give him a yellow. id much rather see some tougher play be allowed and much less of the simulation 2) if youre carried off on a stretcher you have to either sub out, or sit out ten minutues... see how many people keep diving and asking to be taken off the field then. i mean whatever happend to just walking it off? it really is ludicrous when you think about it. watch rugby or american football, if a guy is taken off in a stretcher its because he just tore every ligament in his knee, and he'll probably still try to WALK off. these guys get tapped in the leg and need to be carried off. its shameful. im surprised they dont have more dignity. you might say its part of the game - and youre right, it is. but its FIFA's fault for letting it be part of the game. i feel if both those are addressed it will be good for the game. you wont see these pussies crying on the ground, then coming right back on. i saw one guy get fouled for his shirt being pulled, and just out of habit when he dove he grabbed his ankle... nothing touched it, hes just so used to doing that when he dives, he did it without thinking  .

I'll have to watch the Aussies' game later on. By your comments it was a great match. I only saw the Brazil-Japan match, and I gotta say it was a taste of Brazil's game.
Now to wait for the rest of the games. It could be the last chance of France (they have to put Henry and Trezeguet together).
The Swiss team will have a hard game against those fast koreans.
Ukraine has to show everything they have to qualify.
And Spain will only confirm that their group wasn't so hard, and to point to the semifinals

Mate these little leagues I see here that they show on Local TV are embarrasing.
Its actually sad the level of football the play at.
I can bring my old high school team from Ukraine and beat these guys.
Its just sad.
Oh well we got "HOCKEY!"
Anyway the reason we dont have a football league is because Canadians dont like the sport.
Its only immigrants in cities like Toronto, Vancuver, Montreal that like it.
Otherwise the rest of Canada is all hard core Canadians that like hockey and shit Canadian beer :P hey but they are still cool.

football in USA wasn't liked, until sport authorities introduced the sport in elementary and high schools. Of course also in colleges.
also the usa league has some financial troubles because not all teams attract the crowds they desired
I wouldn't be surprised if the goverment dept of sport or whatever it is, helps with money.
the usa had another league back then in the 70's. Lots of international stars went (Pele did it) and the league dissapeared

I think a lot of the reason its not very big on a professional spectating level here is that it doesnt yield enough time for commercials. You can only put commercials in at the beginning, half and end and not during. Any other major sport you get here on TV is littered with commercials. I love the sport and played it for over 18 years, coached two teams (coaching one currently) and damn near every kid in this area played for some time at least. Its huge at the youth level but not at the professional.
Anyway, I saw Brazil's game today and they looked pretty damn good. Ronaldo finally got into it and scored some goals. Tivo'd the Aussie/Croatia game so Ill have to catch that later tonight. Didnt watch the US/Ghana or Chech/Italy games yet either but I Tivo'd them so I am gonna go watch those now. I havent missed a single game yet LOL and I dont intend too. There are so few and rare chances to see good soccer (yes I said soccer!) here without having to pay for some ultra premium sports channels.

Well I have to say here is my impression of soccer. I’m a “died in the wool” baseball fan. I have also always been a football fan. I also love to watch basketball, tennis, and golf.
But I have NEVER watched soccer. Really I have never been to or seen an MLS game on TV or in person. I virtually know nothing about the sport. So this year I thought I would give it a chance and watch this way hyped World Cup. The first day I see all this racist shit! People throwing bananas and dressed up like Hitler?!?! What the fuck! This shit does not happen in sports in America.
Ok so the the USA looses its first game witch was no big deal and no surprise. Next thing I see are tons of posts all over message boards with Europeans saying things like “haha fuck you America you suck so bad” etc. Then a lot of people replied that they really don’t car if team USA wins or looses because they are just not into soccer. So those same people get even madder. “You stupid fucking yanks don’t even like the best sport in the world its no wonder everyone hates you!!” etc. etc.
So I have to agree with the guy on CNN 100%! I tried to get into the World Cup but immediately found out 3 things!!
1. I find it painfully boring to try to watch.
2. I was shocked and appalled to see the racism witch apparently has been going on for a long time in the sport.
3. The fans around the world have no respect for the USA and the sports we do like and are unbelievably rude and immature towards us and each other.
Bottom line, I will never watch or care about soccer again, its pure garbage!
SFDMALEX
06-23-2006, 12:46 PM
/\/\/\Your so fucking full of shit.
1) There has been no racism in this world cup, or ever.
2) Racism is football is a rare occasion.
3) Football boring? WTF is baseball then ahahahahahahahahaah
4) The reason no one respects USA is because of guys like you in the first place lol
Global Warming
06-23-2006, 01:16 PM
1) So the people throwing bananas and chanting "monkey" at black players on the first day didn’t happen? WTF? It was international news! Plus the German police confiscated dozens of pro-nazi signs and banners!
3) If you did not grow up playing and watching baseball then yes I'm sure it is boring to you! That does not make me mad at all. In fact I expect and understand that. I have NO desire what so ever to see baseball become popular in Europe. And saying you don’t like it does not bother me at all. If you don’t like baseball then don’t watch it, watch a sport you do like.
That is the main problem with soccer, this attitude that "it’s the best fucking sport in the world and if you don’t LOVE IT you suck". That is so stupid and its people like you that make people like me hate soccer even more.
I really hope the USA does NOT make the WC in 2010. It’s just a waist of time and I would much prefer a lot less coverage of it in our country.

the us will be good someday. it just takes passion. when that day comes, ill be the first in line to flick off every single one of you international haters of american soccer. i might have to wait a while, but thats ok, the longer it takes, the better it will feel when it happens. until that day, ill be rooting for the netherlands because that country is my next closest tie as far as my family tree goes. slovakia was a close second to NL but theyre fucking out now anyway.

The difference is that as an American that truly does not like soccer I'm attacked for it over and over. So it immediately puts me on the defensive. If everyone that likes soccer had the same attitude I have towards people that don’t like baseball we would not even be having this conversation.
I just don’t understand why soccer fans have this join us or we hate you attitude. And it is that very attitude that makes me hate the sport. That and I find it very boring.
Like I said I don’t care if you do or don’t like any of the sports that are popular here. I will never attack people with this "like it or die!!" attitude. I would never expect someone in Italy to like baseball.
Edit: and what is funny is if I was a true soccer fan I would still get attacked over and over with comments like "Hah team USA sucks, god I hate you and your team, bunch of fucking pussies!" And other comments like that. So its just a loose loose situation. The game is boring and the sport has the rudest, dumbest fans I have ever seen. I thought American football fans were the worst but I can see thats not true at all.

how can you call just the netherlands players dirty? are u blind? dont forget how lucky you were that the ref didnt see that high kick/dangerous play in the box in the first half. should have been a penalty. the portugal player almost spiked our forwards face!!
i dont think the game with Holland today showed Portugal at there best,i think portugal are one of the talented teams out there so its a shame the game was so scrappy, but lets wait 6 more days and not see a repeat of 2004 :D

Figo is a homo, i can't believe he went down after that elbow like he got shot. I hope his ass gets suspended for the next game with that headbutt. I hate England, but i hope they kick the crap out of Portugal. And Deco is a moron for getting that second yellow. Maniche is the only Portuguese player that didn't soil his reputation. Kuyt should have scored on the breakaway. Ultimately Holland has no one to blame but themselves, as usual.

the foul with ronaldo was certainly not a straight red card. yes, ronaldo got a dead leg or a slight contusion, but thats what happens. it was a spikes up tackle in the midfield and got the deserved yellow card. what dissappointed me the most about the netherlands was in the second half when the sporting thing to do was give the ball back to portugal... i cant remember who he was, but he just start dribbling. the whole field was frozen for a few seconds and everyone on the portugal team started throwing up their arms and screaming about it. i thought that was disgraceful. i dont care how intense the game is, or what the situation is. if the ball is kicked out for an injured player it should be returned... also, i just cant believe we didnt get one goal, all those chances, one even off teh crossbar... we just couldnt buy one.

England - Ecuador
England's best play of the game was Robinson feigning injury. Nuff said.
Lennon should start in place of Beckham, or at least find a way of accommodating both. Lampard could sit on the bench with Becks taking his place in the middle. Lennon can beat players and get a quick ball in, which is something that England desperately need (Joe Cole always cuts in, slows the game down).
Portugal - Holland
Poor refereeing, but both sides have attitude problems, could cost Portugal dearly. I hate Van Persie. He's a c*nt.
Australia - Italy
I wouldn't be too surprised if Australia pulled something off here...
Switzerland - Ukraine
I have a slight bias towards Ukraine to win this one; Shev is class and should get as many games as possible in the world cup. Prediction: Ukraine 2-0

Tough game, well matched teams, but Ukraine did have the better game. We where in the Swiss box much more then they have been in ours.
And no goals conceded in the penalty shootout, how can you argue that. Besides the fact that the crossbar hit was well covered has it not hit the bar.
Next game we get 2 of our suspended players back. So I really think we got a chance against the Italians.

I agree they havent brought much.
Game 1 we loose badly because we simply didnt play or bring anything to the table.
Game 2 we won and set the record straight.
Game 3 we won a game that we could have tied against the ex African Champions. Who btw did score a goal against Spain in that 2:1 game.
Game 4 we beat a the group winner in Switzerland, in a game that everyone said the Swiss are going to win.
They havent been playing great, but they are playing with their hearts.
This game they worked hard, even the commentator said "Ukraine has been one of the hardest working teams I saw in this tournament".
Lets play Italy next, see how that goes. By the way Italy has been playing I think Ukraine has a chance...but our journey might end there.
