Second feature from the big saloon test and actually we have a break/wagon/avant/whatever. An inonic car for Swiss ppl, even more common than the RS4 on our territory :D
And once you experience one, you can't deny it is something bloody effective on any road you might throw at it. Godo Audi quality, roamy, pretty sleeperish if you are not a total car freak and with some serious asskicking power!
The one we got was an auto, which kinda spoils the fun probably (passenger only, remember), but in another way, it makes so easy to reach for the three digits... winter tires, slippery roads, and yet you can feel the Quattro system really has everything under control. You can nail it how and when you want and the RS6 will explode toward the horizon in a deep thunderish scream! There are quick cars and there are cars that really push you back in the seat and gives you this sort of undescribable "warp" feeling. it happened to me in the supercars I experienced, Enzo and Murcielago and also in the SLK55 to some extent, but never again with the others, no matter how quick and between Maranellos, Modenas, Gallardos and so on it seemed weird. The new RS4 for instance, as mad as it can be, didn't have that warp speed. It's maybe the lack of turbos, who knows, but once the RS6 is on the boil, the magic happens, you feel your eyeballs sqashed in your skull, trying to reach for the back part of it, you start to smile touching 7th heaven, yet you want it to stop because you know the next corner will be too damn close anyway :D But the RS6 breakes well, turns on rails and explodes down the next straightaway.. and you can repeat this all day long.. you'd really want to!
Too often I see RS6s in town, driven between 0 and 60 kmh.. slowly, crawling through traffic and sometimes I wonder why to use such a car.. but I am sure all those ppl have at least a couple of nice corners and a straightaway between town and home, where to stretch the Audi's legs to make their day :)
I can't really find any downside beside the auto tranny, but well, minor flaw.. you just have to find a manual one if you don't like.
I can't remember how many km this car had and in the pics it isn't easy, but something close to 60k I think and yet there was some quite bad wear inside.. on the plastics you find near the doors handles for instance. not ageing very well, but minor stuff again.

So, all in all, I finally plenty understood why the RS6 is such a common car in my country.. it's just perfect in any possible way.. good family car with enough sportiness and grunt to keep daddy happy. As heavy as it can be, it just flies up and down country/mountain roads

Enjoy the pics! you'll find 34 of them by clicking these previews

Indeed, only automatics RS6
Thanks one more time for this indepth Matteo :D It's really nice to have descriptions of what you feel and compare it to the other cars you get a ride in. When you look at the acceleration times of the RS4 and RS6, you can see that the RS4 is ahead but, as you said, Turbos certainly make the difference.
As usually, pics are wonderful  But I prefer wood interior than carbon in the RS6 :P

Dang guys, my bad about the auto thing! I never realized you can't have a real stick in the RS6!! That's terrible new LOL! But probably better considering it is often used by wifes :P

I'd take a B7 RS4 over it due to the fact this is an auto, such a waste to not have a manual option on a car like this IMO.

I can understand the feeling of it being fast due to the turbos, the 996 GT2 is easily the fastest feeling car I've been in even though in reality it isn't any faster than others I've been in. ;)

Great pics as always, my fav is this one:

LOL...well that's a thought...but honestly I've always found the thought of attractive women driving manual transmissions undeniably sexy, so I think whoever I end up marrying is going to have to want to drive a manual.

Well, you can asay whatever you want, but this car has always been special in my books, there aren't many of them in Warsaw and I do get excited like a little kid whenever I see one. Needless to say, great shots, you've captured the car from some unique angels. Anyways, I'm still eagerly anticipating the Quattroporte photoshoot, thanks for this update :D

I always loved RS6's, even if they are only available as an auto. It's the perfect family car: roomy, practical, and fast :D Really nice shots, TT. Since I'm a sucker for snow pics, this is my favourite one:

Already that I had seen some pix preview of your great Audi RS6 Avant pictures shooting session, (Thanks to the backchannel), I was impatient to see the complete set. http://www.rs6.com/smilies/nutchy.gif

Like your Audi B7 RS4 indepth pictures, I'm simply speechless of your photographic skills.
These awesome RS6 Avant pictures could be easily found their way in a official Audi RS6 brochure. http://www.rs6.com/smilies/rs6addict.gif

A special thanks for those pix buddy, it's very appreciated. http://www.rs6.com/smilies/thumbsup.gif

I can't really find any downside beside the auto tranny, but well, minor flaw.. you just have to find a manual one if you don't like.

Indeed it's a minor flaw, because if you absolutely want a manual 6-speed, simply bring the RS6 at your nearest MTM garage and asked for the ClubSport gearbox.

Schwalbe is in heaven with this indepth

Thanks TT for a new set of pictures, very good quality as always.
Nice to read your impressions of the various cars, in a few sentences you provide more information than all the hp, torque, 0-100,blablabla figures can tell.
