Second feature from the big saloon test and actually we have a break/wagon/avant/whatever. An inonic car for Swiss ppl, even more common than the RS4 on our territory :D
And once you experience one, you can't deny it is something bloody effective on any road you might throw at it. Godo Audi quality, roamy, pretty sleeperish if you are not a total car freak and with some serious asskicking power!
The one we got was an auto, which kinda spoils the fun probably (passenger only, remember), but in another way, it makes so easy to reach for the three digits... winter tires, slippery roads, and yet you can feel the Quattro system really has everything under control. You can nail it how and when you want and the RS6 will explode toward the horizon in a deep thunderish scream! There are quick cars and there are cars that really push you back in the seat and gives you this sort of undescribable "warp" feeling. it happened to me in the supercars I experienced, Enzo and Murcielago and also in the SLK55 to some extent, but never again with the others, no matter how quick and between Maranellos, Modenas, Gallardos and so on it seemed weird. The new RS4 for instance, as mad as it can be, didn't have that warp speed. It's maybe the lack of turbos, who knows, but once the RS6 is on the boil, the magic happens, you feel your eyeballs sqashed in your skull, trying to reach for the back part of it, you start to smile touching 7th heaven, yet you want it to stop because you know the next corner will be too damn close anyway :D But the RS6 breakes well, turns on rails and explodes down the next straightaway.. and you can repeat this all day long.. you'd really want to!
Too often I see RS6s in town, driven between 0 and 60 kmh.. slowly, crawling through traffic and sometimes I wonder why to use such a car.. but I am sure all those ppl have at least a couple of nice corners and a straightaway between town and home, where to stretch the Audi's legs to make their day :)
I can't really find any downside beside the auto tranny, but well, minor flaw.. you just have to find a manual one if you don't like.
I can't remember how many km this car had and in the pics it isn't easy, but something close to 60k I think and yet there was some quite bad wear inside.. on the plastics you find near the doors handles for instance. not ageing very well, but minor stuff again.
So, all in all, I finally plenty understood why the RS6 is such a common car in my country.. it's just perfect in any possible way.. good family car with enough sportiness and grunt to keep daddy happy. As heavy as it can be, it just flies up and down country/mountain roads
