A bit late with this update, been sick with the flu most of the week so not much time. :(

Anyway, so this is the first AMG I've ever been in - usually I aim a bit higher. :P I have to admit I came away a little disappointed after spending a few hours with this car. Sure it accelerates like crazy for such a heavy car, but there is no excitement in the way it does it.....not sure how to explain but its just a little "boring" for me. :bah:

It makes a great sound when you really give it some, but just cruising around town you couldn't tell you have a supercharged V8 under the hood......kinda cool I suppose. :) The interior is very nice and comfortable, but again lacking the flare and excitement of something Italian.

So in the end if I had ~$250K to spend on a car then the AMV8, 997, RS4, E60 M5 would all come before this - although I haven't been in the other cars to compare, but hopefully soon. :D

Thanks for the pictures Dingo! I on the other hand adore Mercedes-Benz's, especially the AMG counterparts, but everyone has their own taste in cars. Does the CLS55 cost $250k in Australia?? Anyways, I hope you feel better, and thanks again!

...Does the CLS55 cost $250k in Australia?? ...

Yes, $249,400 is the base cost - then you add options and on-road costs. This is in Aussie dollars of course, so thats about $175K USD. ;)

Remember I'm comparing it mainly to Ferraris and Lambos that I have been in, so maybe I'm being harsh......I haven't been in an M5 yet but that should happen soon and then I can give a fair comparison. ;)

I have to admit my car would be more fun on some proper roads, the CLS55 is too big and heavy for fun in the corners for my taste. However for autobahn cruising I know I'd pick the German. :D

Very well done my friend! It's always so exciting to see what other ppl manage to photoshoot like it should! Actually even if Ferraris and such might be much better, I like "different" shoots like my XJR or this CLS :good:

And to be honest, the pics are so cool that I don't bother if the car is dull.. anyway we knew it already :D
This one is the new one on file for the next contest, and it's an absolutely killer IMO

OMFG very impressive pics  The scenery on the pics is awesome and fits the car very well. If this is just a hobby of yours then i would really think about becoming a professional! The pics really look fantastic aswell as the car itself!

the first pic in the bottom row is probably the best CLS pic I have ever seen. Including a bunch of press pics.

I wanted more and tried some but it was getting too dark, so instead we decided to head back down to the water for that sunset shot. ;)

We both really wanted a burnout shot but it was just too late, shame really..... :(

I agree, although it looks akward to me I can't stop looking at them for some reason. :D

beautiful car - yes, I can describe the car, but describe the photography? no, I can't!!! it's gorgeous, great, awsome... you were just on the right place in the right time with the right car :good: :D

when I saw this car first time in front of MB dealer, I didn't like it at all, I said to my self WTF merc made? and now, when I see black CLS55, I can't be disturbed by anything and I have just to drool at the car  lol

thanx dingo, these pics are high pro, you should think about your photo skills!!!

Obviously a Lambo or Ferrari is something quite different and I don't think they could "easily" be compared to a Mercedes Sedan (even if the Sedan in question is a coupe with 4 seats). The F and L cars are just way sportier :D

I'd take the CLS over the F and L cars if I wanted to "just" drive around with family and friends. If I had a Ferrari or a Lambo, I'd much prefer to have one with 2 seats (not to say a Scaglietti isn't bad, but I wouldn't want to torture anyone by making them sit in the back seat of such a car ;) ).

I wasn't really trying to say that it should compete against Ferrari or Lambo, I just used them as an example as they're the cars I have had most seat time in. ;)

Someone give me a BMW, Jag or Audi and I'll talk some more. :D

The pics are not great, not awesome, nor terrific, they ar just mind-blowingly superb!!! The light, the composition, the quality, just perfection! If I wouldn't have the brochure of the car at home, I would have said you stole them out of it and put your logo on them :P Really, they are so good! IMO the best photoshoot you ever did!

This is as it is for many other my favourite pic:
