cerious... the CCX silouette looks more convex then the CCR... also, the bumber is slightly more petruded; while the nose is slightly higher...which suggests that it possibly is slated for arival to USDOT regulations :-D

i wonder why they didnt show this at LA/NAIAS if they are indeed bringing it state-side?

Las Vegas, NV Feb 6, 2006; Koenigsegg Automotive AB, the Swedish supercar manufacturer, of Sweden has named Exotic Cars, located in the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace Las Vegas, to be the first and only dealer in the United States for its exclusive supercars. A version of the world's fastest production car is now on display in the Exotic Cars Showroom at Caesars Las Vegas.

Koenigsegg is the manufacturer of the CCR, the fastest production car in the world, with a top speed of over 250 mph. The U.S. version, dubbed the CCX, will be unveiled at the Geneva Auto Show at the beginning of March 2006. The 806 HP, 2200 pound carbon fibre supercar goes 0 to 62 mph in just 3.2 seconds, and runs the standing quarter mile in just 9 seconds at 146 mph.

"We couldn't be happier," said Richard Weisman, CEO of Exotic Cars. "In addition to being the fastest production car, it is also one of the most impressively engineered vehicles ever made."

Exotic Cars at Caesars Palace currently displays more than 40 vehicles with prices in excess of $1 million, including such exclusive lines as Ferrari, Lamborghini and Bentley. Thousands of people visit the two-story, 34,000-square-foot showroom each day.

Koenigsegg plans to deliver a limited number of cars during the first year, and orders are being taken on a first come, first served basis. The base price for this prestigious automobile is $650,000.

At least we hopefully can expect some American mags to test it so as we can see what the car can really do. The manufacturer's claims are a joke.
Can't wait for SA supertest.

It seems the Zonda F Roadster will get the 650hp "powerkit" standard.

In a couple of weeks, Italian supercar builder Pagani will unveil its newest model, the Roadster F. The 'F' is a tribute to the legendary Argentinean racecar driver Juan Manuel Fangio, who was to have been the namesake for Horacio Pagani's 'Fangio F1' supercars, ultimately renamed the 'Zonda' after Fangio's death.
According to Le Blog Auto, the Zonda Roadster F will get the uprated 650 hp version of the Mercedes Benz AMG V12 also used in the closed-top Zonda F Clubsport model. The regular version of the Zonda Roadster, with 555 hp, is already good for 0-62 mph in 3.7 sec, so the extra 95 hp should provide truly inspirational performance.

Ghostbat, I would like to know what a Swede makes of the ridiculous claims by Koenigsegg. 1/4 mile in 9s flat etc. Isn't it crap ?

We actually know it is. :P Since it does 200kph in 9.6 seconds, hence the real 1/4 mile time is about 11s. What a shame for Mr. Koenigsegg.

Why would I make something different of it than others??

Check out their homepage for the correct claim. They don't mention a 0-200km/h. Only the quartermile in 9sec @ 235km/h

I am curious to know what the CCX really is, it seems longer than the CCR, has different wheels and brakes. It it's the US version, why didn't they present it at the Detroit salon ??

I knew exactly what they claim and I call it rubbish.

It has been tested in SA. It hit 200kph in 9.6 seconds. Hence the 1/4 mile in 9 seconds at 235kph is incorrect. Btw cars that hit 200kph in about 9.5 seconds do the 1/4 mile in about 11s.

Yeah! This new model looks way better than the previous one, but the design of the whole car still isn't the best

It does look sick, especially in black to me. Another thing - performance - some say it'll have 806hp, like the CCR, the others think it will have around 1000hp and veyron beating performance.

I do think we are about to see a power bump. Why put a new label on an old car - if it were just an american CCR I think it would keep the name. However, 1000hp or so, or even more than 900hp, with the current engine is a tough nut I'd say - it has to undergo emission tests etc, remember. What shall we expect ? Increase in displacement ? Turbos instead of the supercharger ? Completely new engine ? Well, there we some speculations Koenigsegg intended to use a 1000hp+ flat-12, but I think it's too soon for this to come.

 both look awesome

Now Christian von K , should do some things about reliability , and change the dampers , Tiff said it handles like a bucket  and will have a winner in almost all areas :P

The CCX will probably be more powerful and faster than the CCR - it was mentioned in SA Supertest.

rumors.

900bhp

0-100km/h in 3.1 sec

mv
02-24-2006, 09:11 AM
Sadly the rumour turned out to be just a rumour. It gets 806hp and it basically is a rebadged CCR with minor improvements for American market.

brochure : http://davidnaylor.org/blog/2006/02/was-it-just-dream-ccx-gets-806-bhp.html

But this car is a joke to me - you can pay for an extended warranty - 6000 euros (2 years or ,take a seat, 3000km   ) So normally the extended warranty would end after a few months for most of the drivers. Mr. Koenigsegg probably knows why not to provide a longer warranty - he would probably go bankrupt if he had to pay for all the parts that need to be changed. This basically confirms Tiff's worries about the reliability.
