nice news I've received by phone. I might have to be behind bars one or two nights :?

here's the long story:
4 years ago I had a terrible accident with an ex-girlfriend who was sleeping and had no seatbealt. In a bridge that has a nasty little curve, it had rained and lots of old buses drive by this bridge and the pavement is usually filled with oil.
So, at 3:30 am I was driving at 40-50 km/h (I swear, if not the car would have ended worse) and the car slipped and went directly to a barrier.
my ex-gf hitted the dashboard and went into a coma, one friend of hers was bruised (another person without seatbelt)
I also got some bruises because I was using seatbelt
I was charged with "injuries" and went behind bars until my family gathered the 5000usd for my bail.

Now after years, the case isn't going anywhere, I can't travel outside mexico and maybe my lawyer and the judge of the case will ask to jail me for a day or two. By doing this, is supposed that I can be free at last (stupid laws)

well, one thing is for sure... I won't be needing my laptop in that place and you won't be reading more of my stupid posts for some hours :mrgreen:

I would not like it, but I'll have to wait a call around 10 am to find out what will have to be done :?

hey antonio, it seems like a total unfair situation you've been put in. Even the safest drivers can have accidents, and when your eeven a passenger its a chance your taking. You seem to be taking it pretty well tho, I'd be wanting to fight the judge, even for 2 days that just sucks!!

Ok, after a 4 day break of JW... I can finally tell you that I didn't had to put a foot in cell
as you might have read, and not making things longer and boring this is what I had to go thorough last friday

So I had to be at 10:30 am with some representatives of the mexican justice system. My lawyer came in first, stayed in the office of those vulture-agents of justice around 40 minutes
made me and my family wait for 2 hours so I could go in, read some very very large and heavy files/archives about my case, and sign them. Had to stay there for another hour and the judges had to eat. Of course their lunch lasted for 2 hours.
To resume everything, I could go free around 10 pm after hours and hours waiting
at last I'm a free man, now I can travel freely and wont have a criminal record for the crash...
unless my ex-girlfriend sues me :| , but they've already signed some papers so they can't sue me
what a relief, I could almost not breathe properly all friday waiting for the veredict. I sweated as a I were on a very hot beach.

I've been onece in jail.. well not in jail but in cell for 3 hours, luckely there was noone with me cause I sleped all the time :shock: :mrgreen: They got me there JUST cause I was in the center of the city and didnt have passport or any id with me so they got me there, I called my buddy who came for my keys and then brought my id :? Not very nice place to be :mrgreen: Not at all

My ex is just ending a 7 week temp position and she graduated her college nearly a year ago and still doesn't have a permanent job, and she lives in California.

i was lucky enough to kind of have the whole opportunity for my career sort of fall into my driveway if you will, but i made all the decisions last minute.

It's not all fun and games though. There is still too much month at the end of the money :(
