They have a bright red friggin ENZO !!!!

True....although I wasn't sure if the CGT was from the last series...as it looked a bit similar.

It was the same colour (black) as the one tested in the last series, but i'm hoping - no, PRAYING it's a different test (group test maybe?) as i simply can't get enough of the CGT. For some reason i think it's a different test as the clip didnt look that familiar. Yes, i've seen the TG CGT clip that many times :lol:

Anyway, if it wasnt something to come on the new series, surely that would be false advertising ;)




Can't wait for the Enzo next week. Wonder if it will beat the CGT's lap time. Let's hope the track was dry when they tested it. One thing i know is that it's going to be a long week of waiting for all us TG freaks :D

I recorded the program and just finished watching it, that preview vid of whats to come this series is indeed mouthwateringly tasty!!!!!!! The enzo (next week!) looked and sounded AMAZING and i particularly liked the red zonda roadster coming out of the tunnel!!
Oh, the aston chasing the 575 round the track looked 'interesting' too!!!
Ah its good to see that top gear is back and on top form!

Not sure, Enzo has higher power to weight by a little and is similarly high tech, will be little in it. McLaren has a much higher power to weight but is a lot softer in its springing. I reckon the Enzo has the best chance.

The CGT (supposedly) usually outperforms the Enzo on tight circuits but i'm sure it will be close nonetheless. But what about the F40? Sure it's old but we're still talking over 400bhp/ton and mountains of torque.

Actually there's a pile of classics / cars no longer in production which i'd love to see thrashed around the TG test track. Here's a wish list, in case Clarkson's reading - maybe he's here for the video vault to relive his favourite moments :lol:

I've been absent for too long but certainly can't miss out on the new Top Gear season.

About the new Top Gear Trailer: well like the daddy says, this promises to be the best Top Gear season yet. Missed it on tv last week :oops: but now my vcr is allready programmed for tomorrow. They said the Enzo is coming so I hope it will be the CGT-Enzo-Zonda comparison we've all been waiting for. Best of all, I don't think anyone has reviewed those 3 together before. IMO these are the current ultimate supercars available. Maybe they could also have added the Koenigsegg, but I don't think that's as good as these 3. All 3 have a bit atmospheric engine, mid-engine layout and a very good reputation. This should be the ultimate car test EVER!!!

The only thing I would change is make it a comparison done by JC, Tiff and Vicki. The hamster is quite good to but can't match Tiff's driving or Vicki's sexyness. And James well he doesn't seem to be able to drive :roll: He allways loses in a drag race with a huge amount, no matter what car he's in.

Conclusion: can't wait till tomorrow night!! I absofuckinglutely have to see it.

Nope, he got close thought. He had the Enzo, the Zonda and the Koenigsegg on his DVD, but he didn't have a CGT. The CGT was released a bit later then the Enzo so I suppose that was the reason.

I think that he took this time from Ferrari official claims but, to my knowledge, no magazine ever achieve to pass below the 4 s and most tests i read recorded times between 4.3 and 4.7 s for the 0-100 km/h (62 mph) ... It's not that it had not the potential, the power-to-weight ratio is very good but the suspensions and tyres conceptions are older.

Autocar recorded 3.2 s when they tested the Mclaren F1 and the other times (1/4 mile and standing start km) were verified by Best Motoring too :wink: on twice occasions (but with the same car).

They had the occasion to compare the Mclaren with the Enzo but they missed it :?

ya i think the F40 0-60 in 3.2 was just abit exagerated lol, but common 4.3-4.7 it can do it in 3.9 maybe even 3.7-3.8, and second i dont believe those drag runs between the cars, i mean thats the second time now with such a big difference. Yeah I agree. Also, it would have been nice if JC had done some research into why modern supercars are slower in a straight line and heavier than old supercars, instead of just complaining about it.
Surely someone like him would know how many hoops modern car makers have to jump through to get their cars road legal. Its a miracle modern supercars are as good as they are! The regulations are so much more stringent than in the 'old days'

And for him to complain that the enzo and CGT don't have the top speed of the F1.... come on! How much $$$$ was the F1 when it came out? And what happened.....? It sold waaay less than they hoped because it was just too expensive. So Porsche and Ferrari decide to learn from the mistakes of Mclaren, and make their cars more affordable (relatively speaking :D ) and all JC does is complain?

And can anyone tell me why they didnt lap the CGT and enzo together on the same day? When you are fighting for top place on the board, and you have both cars there on the track, then why not run them both????? Anybody can tell you that ambient temp can have a big effect on a cars laptime.

ya i think the F40 0-60 in 3.2 was just abit exagerated lol, but common 4.3-4.7 it can do it in 3.9 maybe even 3.7-3.8, and second i dont believe those drag runs between the cars, i mean thats the second time now with such a big difference. That race between the Murcielago and Zonda was a little off. Anyway, the Murcielago is about as quick as an F50 to 100mph(8 seconds). The F40 which is definitely slower than the XJ220 runs about 7.6 seconds. The Zonda runs a 7.4 or 7.5 to 100mph. The XJ220 seemed to get a good start and from there it really shouldn't have had any trouble keeping up or even pulling away.

It is still one of the quicker supercars out there. It could hit 217mph. That doesn't necessarily mean it is quick, but it does indicate it has the power to accelerate as quick as it did in that ep.

If you want any real indication the XJ220 did a 7:46 at Nurburgring. The Zonda does a 7:44. The Zonda brakes much better, has 10 year newer tires and better handling. The XJ220 must have made that time up on the straights.

i dont believe nururgring times mean anything like on such a long lap there are so many oppurtunities to gain tenths here and lose tenths there and impossible to put a perfect or near perfect lap in so that doesnt mean shit.

And ive looked all over the net and have found no 1/4 times under 11.7 for the xj220, and ive found the same numbers for F40 so the F40 i defenetely not slower then xj220 in 1/4, and the c12 s should be able to be on par with those 2

Im am very confused as to what ferrari is doing with its 12 cylinder line..... I thought that the 575 was getting replaced with the 612 scag. Then I hear about the new car that looks almost exactly like the 575 in raod and track with the words "575m replacement?!?!" above it.

So, does this mean the 612 is a separate car all on its own from the 575? or what ? :?

The 575M GTC is just a 575 with a handling pack. Its not really an all new car.

Not sure wether the 612 is supposed to be a 575 replacement, but I guess if they are still making the 575, they must be totally seperate models.. :?

No, the Scaglietti is the 456GT replacement, not the 575's
