Pretty nice model man. What is this fair that u r refering to? Perhaps a pic from the "before" stage?
For both, we need to wait for stradale to pop up :)
I already have too many red Ferraris for my taste :D
Very nice model dude, the 355 sure is yummy,id love to find one at my shop :D
congrats on the new addition :D

New model, and this one is 100% thanks to Roland, aka stadale!! he often attend this big fair and finally I asked him if he could find something for me.. I thought it was an impossible task, especially since I didn't want to spend too much.
I asked for a dark blue/tan F355 berlinetta.. and well:

Isn't it a sweetie! And it costed 8 ! (Detailcars BTW)
You should have seen the pics of the car before Roand's dad put his hands on it to restore it to full glory and beyond, a big thanks goes to him too!!
My favourite V8 Ferrari in my favourite color scheme :D I am definitely happy!
Thanks again Roland!
Ha, I was looking forward to seeing the F355 officially being announced as the new addition to the famous Renens automobile collection! It feels good, being in the Ferrari export business. I'm glad you are fully satisfied with it.
Here are two pictures of what it looked like when I bought it.
Before 1 (http://img20.exs.cx/my.php?loc=img20&image=dsc000505nm.jpg)
Before 2 (http://img20.exs.cx/my.php?loc=img20&image=dsc000566el.jpg)
Cleaned, polished, waxed, air intakes painted black, window openings touched up with black paint, new badges all round, new windshield wiper, exhausts bored out and then it looks like it does in Matteo's pictures.
The model fair at which I bought it is comparable to an antiques fair. It takes place six times a year and is organised by the Dutch model car club. It's still called 'swap meet', but usually the models change owners for cash, not other models.
Stands galore (I think it was more than 1 km in table length) with whatever on it that people want to sell. It ranges from Dinky toys to BBRs, from scales 1/12 to 1/87, models from trucks, cars, bikes and earth moving vehicles (but cars are the majority). The sellers are hobbyists and also model stores.
Here are some pictures I took last year. While looking them up I saw that the last picture has the man who sold the F355 to me in it! LOL

BTW, it's a nice addition... I searched mine for a long time, and when I found it, I just bought it. I didn't even ask for the price... this car HAD to be in my collection. Fortunately, it was from Bang and it wasn't expensive... it costed like a Minichamps... something around 30 euros.
The F355 are pretty rare in 1:43... even if they're from BBR or other top marques. Not to mention a red Spider with beige interior...
They are indeed harder to come by these days. I bought my Minichamps (Spider and Berlinetta) when they were being produced, but now I don't see them that much anymore. I saw two Minichamps though last time at the fair, both black, one a GTS and one a Berlinetta. The GTS was priced at a very reasonable 20 euros, while the Berlinetta (not for sale at the same stand, BTW) was priced at a ridiculous 70! I saw this happening with the Minichamps McLaren F1 as well. The silver ones also cost somewhere in the region of 70 euros, whereas the blue ones (built only recently, but the exact same model) are around 30.
Who knows, maybe I come across a red/tan F355 spider by Minichamps next time... :D
I'd really like to have such an event near me.. even twice a year would be ok!!
Anyway maybe it is better this way.. or else I would waste tons of money on new models every time!
And I don't have a skilled dad to "restore" them when not in perfect condition LOL!
stradale
04-12-2005, 05:45 PM
LOL. Well, pretty much every model for sale, especially the ones that would be of interest to you are not in the state the F355 was in. Oh damn, what am I doing? All models look like crap there, TT. If you can't fix them, it's no use for you to attend such a thing. You're not missing out on anything!
Some people actually travel from France, Germany and even Italy for this fair... I wouldn't do that, but some disagree apparently. from Belgium and the western part of Germany it's doable though.

Well, I need to buy a box for 1:18 models, but can't find them around here, so I need to look in eBay I guess or some online store, but this one has to be protected :D
Finally a new car, a sweet Ghibli, damn sexy car! The box was badged Maserati like for a couple of other models I have, so I am 99% sure it was done by IXO like the others, but too lazy to check right now LOL

It was time to add a couple more models, and I think an F40 and an MC12 will do :D both made by IXO

Yes I think these two are worthy additions - I'm also very eager to get an MC12 (once they are released in 1:18). :D
Do IXO also make the MC12 in all blue?
I don't know to be honest, but all the ones they had there were blue/white (both with our without the roof)

Very nice additions dude.the F40 looks great,i wish i coudl get a better one than my hotwheels.lol it was either that or the £300 1:12 scale version, lol

YAY, I can finally bump up this topic! Dang I really needed a new model today after months of starving!
I managed to find a Bang 250 GTO so I picked it up despite many new models floating around the store like Sparks' Pantera or DB7 Zagato which are just marvellous...
Here it is anyway, in a color I always liked ;)

Now go and get that Pantera......

Nice addition, TT. I want a GTO someday as well (both model and 1:1 if that's possible :P ), but I want a red, silver or dark blue one without decals. I always want cars to be as 'stradale' as can be. Those Bangs offer quite a lot of detailing for very small prices. Too bad they put these solid lumps of plastic in as headlights. They usually put me off buying one.
Glad to see Danny is also coming round, considering 1:43. :D Oh well, there's always someone else who needs tto become a convert... ^^^^
I wanted indeed a stradale version actually, but there wasn't one :(
Didn't get many models this Xmas, but still a couple nice ones, and a gadget ;)
Now beat this paintjob!! (1:43 Bburago)

And other one was just an AA 1:43 Veyron

Yes Veyron looks great. I wait for production version in 1/18. 8) Paintjob looks nice but on this F40 it΄s not that good IMO :?
Well, I already have a boring red F40 and I am a sucker for "not red" Ferraris :D so when it is something wicked, it has to be mine! This one was for sale for 50 Swiss Francs instead of 100, so a bargain too :D

Also a marvellous collection, TT. Congrats. Your thread here is the ONLY one in JW where the word "FABBRI" is mentioned. Therefore may I ask for your kind help:
I have bought IXO Ferrari Models. In box which is in very nice red box itself. They cost around 30 .
Now, I have also bought some IXO/FABBRI from eBay. The shape of the body is exactly the same, some minor detail variations exist in painting (i.e. door handle). They cost around 9 at eBay. I saw that those models are refferred here as "newsstand" models.
So.. can you please clarify the difference between IXO and IXO/FABBRI models..
Thanks in advance!
tanelvali
Yup, Fabbri ones are newsstand ones.. slightly lower quality, created for Fabbri by IXO, on a larger scale I guess

The paintjob on your F40 is very original...and funny !
You have a very nice AUTOart Veyron, I'm currently waiting the production model of the Veyron in 1:18 scale by AA before buying it.

HAHAHA, well, money beeing channeled elsewhere atm and although I keep drooling in the scale models store on a daily basis or almost, I never managed to buy a new one lately :bah:
Well, it was time to bump this topic up, even if just for a single model and not even one I bought myself :D
It was a present the guy with the orange Diablo SV I indepthized the other week took with him for me. Even if the interior color is quite weird, I love it and it will bring back memories forever. Quality also seems pretty good for a Bburago afterall!

Are those wheels from 456GT? Looks great and also interior. Is there carpeting?
They look a bit like 456 wheels indeed but nope, the car is "stock". I saw some Diablos with those wheels in r/l. not the perfect choice IMO. As for carpeting, well, the floor isn't really pastic, yet no quality carpet neither.. pretty weird
Dang.. lately I get new models only at birthday and Xmas :bah:
So, here is my second and last update for 2006
