Default My first model: Maisto SL55 building pics

Hey guys. I'm just getting into scale models and was really amazed by the quality and finish of this cheap Maisto model. I bought it from Wal-Mart for $25+tax. It was the only one left and the only Maisto model there.

Pics of STFU:

mmm..can't wait to open the box

Doesn't look like it's gonna be too hard to put together:

Out of the box she comes:

They even included a screwdriver. How thoughtful. 8)

The quality of the paint on the metal body was fucking impressive. Look at it shine:

Bling-bling?

Or more discrete?

So comfortable...

Detailed dash:

It even has real mirrors:

Slap on the stainless steel exhausts:

Incredibly detailed interior:

Screw the chassis together with the body:

I decided to go with the bling-bling wheels:

....together with the performance tires and brakes. The brake calipers say AMG. How cool is that? 8)

Big brakes:

So beautiful:

Get used to this view.

Slap on the Deutsch plates:

Fit the wheels:

Interior fully assembled:

mmmm...low:

mmmm...high:

Up on the trophies case...where it belongs.

The scale is 1:18. Hi-res pics are available. If interested, P.M. me for hi-res pics.

I hope you enjoyed the pics as much as I enjoyed taking them and assembling this kick-ass car.

Great shots, Mihai. It looks like a fun little hobby. I can see it becoming quite expensive.

Pretty nice and such kits are good you can't basically screw up with them but will still enjoy the building process The quality is pretty good, Maisto in the "cheap" department is a great choice!

It's the Blue Angels one, yes. 8)

Thanks for your comments, guys. I'm really fighting the temptation to buy more models. Now I can see how people can end up with collections like TT's and Danny's. :x

Great model Bad, and like you say, great quality for $25, especially $25CDN.

I bought my Bro in law a 1:12 Maisto Mini Cooper for Christmas, $9.98 in Sams club.

DeMoN - I'm with you on this one -too frightened to buy any more models as I won't be able to control the addiction!!! I have a merlot Maisto 993 but it's at home (in UK).

Cool. I just put an F14 Tomcat on my ceiling (just moved). You can see part of it on the right of that pic.

LOL, I'd love to oblige, but you're going to have to wait for the next time I'm home I'm afraid hehe.
