I agree with dani that the engine is a V6 or so

The question is that the image come from the french TT championship; anc actually, almost all of them are consisted on a tubular chasis, mid-engine, 4 wheel drive, and a fiber touring car shape; moreover, the engine range go from the PSA or Renault V6, the BMW 6 cilinder, and also the boxer porsche engine; most of the engines size between 3000 and 3500cc

The sound is amazing! But it doesn't sound like a V12 like dani said, its more a singing V6 with those high revs

doesn't sound like the 12 at all. It's way too high pitched for a large displacement motor. And something like that with such a big engine, why would you not get shots of the motor too?

Sounds more like a 12 than a 6 to me, its obviously just got a pretty interesting exhaust system which makes it sound so high pitched.

This website would seem to corroborate the BMW theory, despite still calling it a V12. BMW never made a 3.6L V12, but they have a number of S6 engines around that capacity, fitting in with what Mr Capri says.

http://www.planete-205.com/205-derivees.php scroll down near the bottom of the page.

However, looking at the picture of the rear suspension you can just about see that it is running a longitudinally mounted transaxle, and although you can't see the engine itself the one visible header suggests vee-configuration. There's no way that anything longer than a V6 would fit in a car as short as a 205. If that is the case then that rules out BMW, and we are left with a high-revving V6 of some sort.

Exactly....after having a look at the brochure about the different and specials 205; the car in question has a tubular buggy chassis (fouquet) quite a popular chassis manufacturer alongside gembo among others

There is another clue why it isnt a V12; it doesnt make any sense at all in a rally car to see a 3.6 liter V12 engine; for instance even in formula 1 (where a lot of power is required even in much much more revs) it has never been a good base considering that ferrari was forced to replace for the V10; Honda also launched a V12, but suddenly it was replaced by the V10; the lamborghini V12 was another failure........

About the hillclimb car; this is another mistake; the driver in question (Alain Castellana) was driving a CN car with a 3 liter BMW engine; however, I though that the car in question was a Osella PA20, but I was wrong, it was it rival the Norma M20; nonetheless, in any case it was an Audi

Nah - that would be too heavy... remember it's a rally car - it has to be light and nimble!

Reminds me of the story behind the "Audi R8 Hillclimb" vid on YouTube - it's a Norma-BMW hillclimb racer... but someone thought that a R8 in a hillclimb would attract more views. Now everyone think and believe that it's a true Audi R8
True!

About that guy, what a :wanker:
