If you stick with what you said above then forget supercharging you car.. Because it's expensive, and I don't just mean the supercharger unite it self.. I'm talking about maintainance .. The car will use a lot more oil then it usual dose and fuel is another thing to consider too.. And the stress your putting your car into is a lot so don't expect it to live a lot..

But if you changed your mind and decide to spend lot of money on the car then go ahead it's fun...

By adding any of those...you will get more wear and tear. Also you might see some problems that you later might have to pay. If you play you gotta pay for it.

any forced induction will be a expensive idea

better stick with the cheaper upgrades, intake, exhaust, chip, etc etc

The newer 'ST' versions of the mondeo are up to 220hp (the last of the old shape they sold in the UK)

Maybe you can have a look on ebay.co.uk and find some stock ST220 parts for next to nothing that someone has discarded due to their own upgrades?

Shipping might cost a bit but if you plan ahead seafrieght is only 6 weeks....

Just my 2 pesos worth 8)

The latter model mondeos are good cars. I like them alot The supercharger really depends on how much boost its running and what company makes it, but Id be willing to say you could get a 70Hp bump in power with out any real reliability conserns. Just a few Questions though.
Whats the Compression Ratio in a v6 Mondeo, and how strong are the stock rods? (how much hp can they take before they redecorate your block with holes?)

I'm from Monterrey Mexico

because of one family member works at Ford I'll get it at a REALLY wood price... that's why I can't aford the Seat Leon Cupra R... I really love that car

about the compression ratio is 9.8:1

how d oi know how strang are the stock rods?

I'm just planning for a supercharger with 4-6 psi not looking por a competition car... just for a little of more fun!

it is V6 2.5L 170 bhp@6000 rpm and 162 lb/ft @ 4250 rpm

do you know how much could i gain with that 4-6-8 psi supercharger???

its my first tune of a car

thanks

anything you think i should know before???

i just read about the basics of superchargers at an article at superchargersonline.com and know the basics of mechanics....

Look online for other people that have boosted their mondeo's, and see how much power they can make before people upgrade the internals. But with 4-6 psi, id be willing to bet you can get over 210 at the wheels.

Even though you said you don't want to spend alot, get Forged Rods and Pistons, that way when you decide to SC or TC your motor, the last thing going through your head is your bottom end comming apart, and you can run higher Psi if you realy wanted too.
I almost forgot, the US version of your car for performance is the SVT Countor, although it only came with 200hp, it had a slightly stronger motor to play with, you can also start there for parts.

if you want a powerful car for lesser money i would recommend getting a used car with forced induction (turbo) in its stock form and then installing a performance ECU.
to be more specific i think the A4 powered by a 1.8T is just perfect

As i understand you are not looking to buy another car than a mondeo.I would agree with MV and go for the audi but thats up to you and your pocket. To agree with the first statements i would have to say that a lot of money would be spent on a supercharging and the maintenance afterwards. You should also consider things like suspension. brakes and other safety factors that would be probleming your car with all that extra power.
