heres my setup i just bought from HK. everything for less than $4200 AUD excluding speakers. just the latop costs $4500AUD in australia. just to show how cheap stuff is in HK

It includes Sony VAIO Z1XGP with port replicator, spare ac adaptor, SB Audigy NX and Samsung 173v 17" LCD monitor, mouse and portable HD.

if the laptop had cost that much it would have been a rip off. For that price you could get the 17 inch powerbook. But if u actually read the first post he had more then just a lap top.

also remember the exchange rate is pretty good for ppl outside of US thats why it seems very pricey. and yes the price included everything in the pic except the speakers

Man that's sweet. 1.7GHz centrino with dvdrw and 60gbs. I don't think I've ever seen that model here in Canada before, but hell I don't look at laptops, too pricey. What parts did you buy for your "semi-mega" pc?

As a VAIO SR owner, congrats on your purchase! Sony's are great style wise, although make sure you get rid of all the junk they install to get some nice performance boosts.

yes i kinda felt the extra software was bogging it down.
in the future, if i use the recovery cds, are there options not to install those extra software? all i need is the OS and drivers.
