Default Having a good time yet?

Got to tell you all something..... damn I'm really having a good time here! I'm on several other car forum sites and they're all pretty good but jeez, you guys are just like male 'Chatty Cathys'. The posts just keep coming and coming. I'm really having a riot on JW (except for the Interpol investigation). I can't believe I'm talking to guys in Switzerland, Belgium, Germany, Australia, England and hey, if I left you out it wasn't intentional! Do I need a passport to continue? See, I knew I didn't have to fly in an airplane to 'see' the world. I just close my eyes and I can see all of you and your Thanks for taking me under your wings and making me a member! The MAGS

Damn, trully unbelievable stuff. Weird thing is, I might be the only one here who isn't really that envious/jealous (I'm into "Q-cars" and methinks will always be... I consider a 911 Turbo "loud" enough already).

As the other's have said, welcome to JW mate.

Oh, and if you fancy asian women, I'm your pimp You would definitely need to fly though.

Nice review of the Murcie and Gallardo. Looking forward to the rest.

I am sure the moment you step inside a car showroom, the salesmen put on their best impression of Pavlovian dogs salivating uncontrollably with the sound of cash registers Ka-ching-ing in the background

I know it is isnt my place to offer a suggestion about the SLR but I think you should keep the Maranello - it is a much better car in my humble opinion.

Ditto on the Maranello! I totally agree. It seems easier and more fun to drive. And it's amazing how many young kids (16 to early 20s) gawk at the car when I drive by. I'm not putting the SLR down in any way, I'm just saying I prefer the Maranello. True about the salesmen. They're like flies on dog poop when they see my mug! What's really strange though, and my girlfriend and I talk about this all the time, is that once the sale is over, I usually get a call a few weeks later asking how I like the car and if there is anything they can do. And then...... they disappear! I haven't heard from any salesman yet that sold me one of those cars asking me months later if everything is OK and would I like to buy something else. Although the F430 salesman in Scottdale, Arizona had a person from the dealership call and ask me if I was interested in a Super America. Beautiful car!!! When I asked how much, he said $375K. After I got up off the floor, I told him thanks for the call but a the present time, I really wasn't interested. My girlfriend says that she'd call me once a month (of course she does that now!) just to check in with me and MAKE SURE everything was OK. She said if she was my salesperson, she'd be my best friend for the rest of my life. It is very puzzling to me especially since they don't have to pay for their calls or mail. Strange!!

Let me honestly say something. When I bought the first car I ever owned , a 1956 Chevy 2 door, it was the most valuable thing in my life at 16. I loved and still love that car. It was the first of a long line of cars I owned but I truely remember tons of things about that car. I've been very fortunate in life being adopted by two loving parents and then having a Father who busted his ass his whole life working and creating a very successful company to make sure he, my mother and sister and myself had a wonderful life. Everybody can't be as lucky as I was but they can have a car that means everything in the world to them just like my 56 Chevy meant to me when I was young. I respect every person for who they are and not what they have. As long as they're a decent and respectable person, they're my friend and their car to me is as good as ANY one of my cars! Friends are hard to find and even harder to keep. If you have a 1961 Volkswagen, to me that car is great and i'll recall stories when I was a kid about how neat that car was. Thank you for your compliment and that's why I enjoy doing these reviews and sharing pictures of my cars with all of you. I want you as my friend as much as I NEED YOU AS MY FRIEND!!!!!

^^ You are indeed a decent and humble man. We can learn a lot from you... 8)

Anyway, enough of the mutual praise, why don't you start some #@$#kicking by saying that "Z06s suck" - that will bring my good friend RC45 into the discussion. He's got a finely tuned radar that homes in on Corvette insulting threads out a 1000 other threads

So, I say lets just relax and enjoy the cars for what they are, and mag as a new JW'er.

Besides 2300 views in 3 days for a post with no porn must be close to a JW record...
Heck, I almost had to dial 911 when I got this post from RC. He really tore me a new a-hole the first time I chimed in to JW forum. But as you can see, he can be a good kid! Maybe his shoes are just too tight somedays and he takes it out on us! The Z06... I want one pretty bad but I can't because they don't come with an automatic and I would love to get it for my girlfriend to cruise around in but she can't drive stick. Hell, she can't even spell stick! Remember...... she's a Blonde. Unless the guys on CorvetteForum.com are humongus bullshitters, they're talking about low 11s in the quarter mile. That's some serious E.T. for a street legal machine! I've had several Corvettes in my life and they are excellent sports cars for the money. The second car I ever owned was a brand new 1966, 427 c.i., 425 h.p. 4-speed Corvette convertible. I don't need to tell you what they're worth today. Remember what I said about other people's cars. As long as their good people, their cars are great and you should tell them so. Jagging back and forth is fun though!!

Uhhhhh, I'm almost embarassed to answer this question. I really don't keep tabs on gas mileage. When she gets low, I just fill them up. Yeah... yeah.... yeah.... I know!!!

I can't say I blame you. From my perspective, one only really needs to worry about the gas mileage if you're tight on cash and need a car that's economical to drive. I realize that sounds like a rather asshole-ic thing to say but I am currently in such a position, so it pays for me to keep tabs and baby the car. On the other hand, if you've got cars that you drive purely for the enjoyment of driving, as you obviously do mag, then the pleasure of driving is payment enough for the amount of fuel consumed. I've been driving an RX8 for the last year and while it's no supercar, it's got a brilliantly balanced chassis and is extremely chuckable, unlike most other cars I've driven so far. I drove it like it was meant to be driven and put nearly 21k on it while getting regular mileage of around 17mpg...no comparison for your beasts I'm sure, but not so great for an RX8 which when babied can return mid-twenties.

At any rate, I suppose the point I'm trying to make is that if you're having fun driving then I figure that the money you spend on gas is money you're spending on entertainment, money that would be spent on other forms of entertainment anyway. Again, thanks for sharing your enthusiasm and cars with us, you've got a fab collection to which I hope to aspire one day

I'm only busting your balls because I'm totally F'ing jealous...I'm actually just going to refer to you as, "that bastard on JW". Although many people might think it's themselves since "bastard" is so generic and would certainly fit many people here, I'm going to reserve that for you! RC45 is generically, "that guy everyone hates"...and I'm "that dude that posts nothing but reposts".

Welcome again...as you'll see, JW rocks!
Heck Stan, I'm honored to receive such a moniker (like that big word?) after being on JW for just a short time. Yeah RC45 really tore into me but I'm just like a Timex watch.... 'I can take a licking and keep on ticking!' Don't be jealous! Can you imagine what Jay Leno's collection looks like? Talk about sick! It makes me look like a real amateur! :violin:

The thing is that Jay Leno isn't here .

Thanks for the write ups they were a pleasure to read. Looking foward to more of them. And a big WELCOME to JW.
