First automotive event with my new config

It was a non-stop fight with the 18-55 but once you have the appropriate settings it can work properly. All the pics (apart from the very first ones) were taken at ISO400 (that was quite a change), f6.3 (in order to get neat pics and a correct depth of field) @ a speed between 1/60s and 1/320s.

The 2 batteries in the grip lasted the whole show :shock:

That was for the technical part, time for the pictures

Then the terrace, despite the terrible weather, those two RR VIP shuttles were parked but behind some fences ...

I also tested my tele lens on the planes

I'm surprised of the awesome quality and quantity of your pictures gallery Darkel. I already knew your photographic skills, but I think this Geneva Motorshow pictures set is one of your best ever. Comme on dit si bien en français, c'est du vrai travail de pro.

As I can see on your pix, the Audi stand is really crowded. Victim of his popularity you were surely not be able to take an excellent picture of the red B7 RS4 Avant in this context. Fortunately that you could take picture of the Sprint blue B7 RS4 Cabrio.

The exotic car pictures which I appreciate a lot are the Veyron, Gallardo & LP 640, Zonda Cabrio and naturely the 997 turbo & GT3.

Same here, dani, I almost missed Fisker (took a crappy dark pic in a rush) and completely forgot about the yellow gumpert apollo (hall 3 if I'm not wrong, I didn't even notice that one on the plan), the alfa diva, Ford GT etc.
Happens every year, you just can't see everything

The wide zoom helped a lot, dunno how I did without it

But it's still necessary, not to fall into easiness and use it everywhere IMO

Terrific pics. You really got the hang out of that 18-55. I especially like the Ferrari pics, cause it was damn hard to take pics of the new 599 GTB Fiorano with all the crowd around them.

btw, did you also had to use high ISO settings on some stands?

Nope, as I wrote I never went higher than ISO400, when the car was black or the stand dark (Brabus did both :roll: ) I preferred to reduce shutter speeds even if it sometimes wasn't enough (Bentley as usual, and RR) :bah:

I always have the feeling my pics of motorshows are a bit too dark. Maybe I should go for the fully manual mode? Though I fear if I do that, I would get a lot of bad pics.
