Default End of an Era~~~teaser~~~

Production is ending on Monday, May 10th in the oldest mass production factory in existance. the Mustang will end its occupation of the factory after a marvelous 40 years at the plant where Henry Ford started it all.

before i report on the actual event, i am giving a few teasers of what is to come, and what i saw while in Dearborn 5/6/04

enjoy!
this one is self explanatory

i know it says SVT.... but thats just a badge... sure fire way to know its 'just' a GT is the rims are smaller/different. the brakes are smaller, the hood is a rounded power buldge... and the body says cobra on it several times. regardless, i love the exhaust re-loacation!

my first time seeing an 05 mustang... its just a V6, and cirainly has the live rear axle. notice the side molding from front to rear is a one piece stamp... it goes above/below (cant see) the doors to improve rigidity

The 05 looks not that good , i prefer it with more agressive rims , that V6 lacks the muscular appearance of the concept

the main cosmetic differences between the v6 and v8 models will be

wheel options
hood will be more rounded like a power buldge
slightly lower to the ground, stiffer
perhaps some ground effects...

basically, if you dont like the looks, perhaps it will grow on you, or you wont like it... the v8 really wont look different

Yah, I don't really like the looks of that V6...but then again think about how bad the present V6's look, but how the same basic body looks so badass in Cobra form. I think there is hope, at least for the Cobra version, to look sweet. Thanks for the pics. 8)

I cannot conceive to possess a Ford Mustang without a V8 engine. :fadein:

not in the least!

here is an example between myself and one of my roommates...
me: i would shy away from the optional v6 in the CTS
drew: i believe its the v8 that is optional
me: well, to me the v6 is optional

they should of just sticked with the concept version of the 2005 mustang, and started again only makin it with a v8 u know, obvisouly they make the 6 and all these other models for money, but with this new model they should of jus started makin them with only the v8's so that u wouldnt see them around so often, its like a camaro and firebird, either get them with the 8 or dont get them at all cause then its not even a firebird or camaro anymore, they jus do it for more sales its stupid.

the new stangs dont look too bad but its true that any american sports car like the camaro/firebird twins or the mustang arent really a sports car unless the un-optional V-8 is rumbling under the hood

so anyway, what were they doin to that new mustang?? pushing it??

ya man its soo true, they should just build way less of them, maybe jack the price up abit and make less options for the car, same as corvette its so stupid they should have the zo6 and thats it, well maybe its a bit different with the corvette i dunno if anything offer smaller engines as an option but always keep them 8's, example 289's, 327's 350's u know
