Nice to see someone share a same opinion. Their comparisons are shit, they dont know how to push a car to its limits, but I watch it since you get some idea of how the cars are, and I love their onboard cameras.

I agree with you guys on the best motoring thing, but at the same time I also disagree.

I do think that in some comparisons the outcomes are not necessarily representative of a cars normal performance. The drivers are all incredible, I don't see how you can say they don't know how to push the cars many of them drive in the JGTC in lemans and several in F1, but they do know the Japanese cars best.

Also in the specific test I am thinking of with the turbo, 360, gtr, evo, corvette and nsx all in the race they did explain that something wasn't right. They thought the 360s tires were either bad or not suited for the course.

The 360 in general seems to get the short end of the stick in BM, but most races the cars come out where they should be. Sometimes the start grid is nuts and some really fast cars get stuck behind for several laps, but overall the races are pretty fair.

I do think the 360 is at least as fast as the Turbo on the track though, interestingly the only two times I have seen the 360 come out on top(not BM) was when professional race drivers were involved in the tests. I'm not sure if they are the ones you mentioned earlier, but I remember in one test the elise or turbo was winning the handling comparo until the race driver's impressions points were tallied and then the 360 jumped ahead.

I think if you can handle the 360 on the limit it is probably a little faster on the track than the 911 turbo, but being a high powered rwd car if the surface or tires are bad at all the 360 will be a real handful.

Speaking of the drivers, there is only one guy there who knows what he is doing, and thats the old guy, the oldest one there. Whats his name?

After seeing a few JGTC races, honestly, those cars can be driven much faster. The problem is the Japaniese style of driving, drift, slide, drift slide. Drift and slide=slow. I was amazed when I saw they do it in race's. Comon drifting in races? But maybe its their tradition. BTW which drivers where in F1? I dont think any on them where in F1.

Driving street cars fast on a track is tough, because they got very soft suspensions, and you can see that in BM videos. They drive the cars very slopy. They trail brake to much into the corners and that always causes the rear end to step out(slide), they arent smooth with the throtle in corners, they seem to accelerate way after the apex's because of their bad corner entry. The even mis their shifts, common, pro drivers dont miss shifts. Its a sin. One of the major factors which slows them down as I mentioned before is their bad throttle control. On the big fast corners I never saw them left foot brake, you should never miss the oportunity to LFB when you know that you wont need to shift gears any time soon.(well not all the time, but LFB helps). Take a look at how they work the steering wheel, they use the 900degrees lol. why? understeer. why do they understeer? bad corner entry again. Maybe they have shity ass steering ratios or I dont know what they are doing. Final- They drive badly.

But then when I think about two things pop into my mind. First- They do it for the show. It wouldnt be very intertaining watching bunch of guys run super fast, super clean laps.

Number two- Most of the cars they drive are turbocharged, and if you arent using the full throttle then its gonna be a pain in the ass to get those turbos spinning. So that may explain the sloppy throttle control. But then again, when they drive BMW's still sloppy ass driving. And when the get ferraris' they barely drive them, maybe way to scared to crash them.

And everybody has to agree that they are very biased towards Japaniese cars. Everybody is always biased to some degree, but BM is tad to biased.

Just my 2cents.

I do agree with you to a large extent. They are not racing really seriously, except for the old guy who they refer to as gan san.

Your theory on the racing for show is likely, because the other drivers are always joking that gan san is driving to hard and mean. He probably just takes it more seriously than the rest do as a personality quirk.

The racing is kind of sloppy expecially with the 4wd cars that they just throw around the track, but all the drivers are relatively comparable. The cars are not being driven exactly how they should be which does skew the comparison somewhat, but they are all on similar footing.

Yes they are biased towards the Japanese cars and I would say especially the GTR, but how much that comes into the races beyond their comfort level I am not sure.

I still think they are excellent drivers. I believe I was wrong about the F1 driver. I do remember one of them was invited to an F1team in some position whether it was test driver or what I am unsure.

A reason for the misshifts which I have only seen a couple of in about 6 videos is the fact that they are talking and joking while racing.

I still love the show even after its faults though. It does make me think that they should make a special hardcore version like hot version or whatever that involves them racing with proper apexing and skill.

I agree with you. I love watching it. but as for joking and talking I miss out on that since I dont speak Japanies or Chinies.

Yes, sadly except for several subbed episodes and a couple terribly dubbed ones I have no idea what they are saying.

What I have heard though was generally just comments on the condition of the car and comments on the stupidness or sillyness of other drivers.

the porsche 911 is a better all round supercar, good everday cars that can be driven (really) hard! however the ferrari has that italian passion; the exhaust note, the styling and the interior is much better. i would have thought the 911 may perform slightly better but i wouldn't know for sure. my pic is the 360

on the best mtoring guys, they are definately biased towards the jap cars and i dont find them as enjoyable to watch as tiff and jeremy etc. not enough tyre smoke and attitude from the presenters.

I obviously have no idea what they are saying, but I get the idea that the Drift King and a couple others are actually pretty obnoxious, but sadly I miss out on their behaviour.

As for watching BM I like watching it not just because it is a car show, but because of the races and comparisons. Even if they are biased and not quite ready to drive Ferraris to the max they are really the only group I know of that even attempts these comparisons.

I also love the Clarkson and Tiff style, but there comparisons generally just involve at ton of different camera angles and their subjective thoughts at the end.

The Top Gear track is pretty cool, but even there the wet conditions really screw stuff up. I mean one car might lose 3 seconds in the wet, but another might be just as fast on the dry, but lose 5 seconds in the wet.

truthfully i would get them both. well i might not be able to decide between a 355 or a 360 until i test drove one. i dont know if i could pick. i guess when the time comes i will test drive all of them. OMG my mind just exploded. please dont ask hard questions like this anymore.

BTW i think Tiff is less biased about cars than Clarkson.

Yeah u right Jabba.. don`t wanna lose my avatar! so gonna keep the scoob a little while longer. Although I initially had a pet hate for anything that was not normally aspirated, I am now officially addicted to boost

The gallardo needs to be `vertible so that the V10 can sing out loud! so u can have it for now Jabba...
Gotta hand it to ferrari - their v8 is the best sounding engine in the world imho.. scooby burble a close second mind you
Alfa romeo V6 a distant 3rd, bmw straight 6 ties with the merc kompressor V8 AMG and Mclaren bmw V12for 4th.. any other V12 comes in next!

I'd have to say Ferrari. It's annoying that so many posers drive them, but in terms of passion and design, it beats the Porsche. High revving engine + lightweight RWD chassis = driving bliss! Black on black with the manual 'box for me please .
