that bridge is actually feartured in the top gear episode with the SLR v. Powerboat race
JC:"That really is a beautifull bridge!" is a reference to Øresundsbroen.

And waves aren't a problem, the danish waters are very calm at that particular location. And when youre standing on the beach you can easily tell why you need a tunnel so that ships can pass. Apart from the smaller stuff, at least 5-10 supertankers pass every hour!! There is an insane amount of traffic.

The ships access Østersøen via this bridge and have then access to Germany, Poland, Finland, Russia and the Baltics.
