Nice car, great choice of colour!

What other cars did you consider when deciding what to buy?

Thanks for the comments all! It's one of my pride and joys. Too bad the weather is hell out and I see nothing but rain clouds and high winds which is no fun to enjoy the agility of the Boxster.

Why do that? If i am going to pay this much for a car i am going to keep everything the factory gave me

See the autobahn soon? It saw the autobahn 30 mins after it left the factory. Of course i didn't buy the car for top speed as I have been in various cars at 170 mph on the autobahns. I bought this car to take turns at 90 mph on small two lane roads with blind corners ok not really...or maybe?!

Well many different cars...but all in the Porsche line-up Of course the dream was a 911 variant but i became impatient and wanted something now. So considered what i wanted in a Porsche and what i wanted it for. Since I'm no poser i wanted a true "sports car" so the Boxster chassis came to mind. It, base Boxster, didn't quite fit my needs as far as torque and power plus lots of grip and lots of brake. For a near bare bones Boxster S i get all the performance i need and power/handling i can drive as of now. I needed no fancy bells and whistles(options) so the 987S was my solution and I am glad i did it. Plus the top down driving through some back country twisties enhances the experience. It's been smiles and grins since and everytime i get in it it always seems like the first! As soon as the weather breaks i will post more pics and hope to get some vid clips in too. More to come.

great car choice. now take it to DP Motorsport, Gemballa, MDT-Tuning, Rinspeed, Roock, RUF, Strosek, or Tech Art. and update use

Actually i would only take it to two places. Either Sport Tech or RUF. All the other places are garbage or just put what they call aero kits on the car. Really though there is no need to take it to any of these places as the car is straight out of the box fast for it's intentions.

But as I said in the other topic - the wheels are probably the only extra option I'd take if I had to chose - and some 997S 19in fit the car perfectly!!

As you're really interested in good handling, proper chasis, twisty road and so... why not the Cayman S?
Because the Cayman S optioned the same is another $4500. That's money spent on other things. Also 19's may look nice but the ride becomes quite harsh and you only gain diameter not width with 19's. The car should really have the ROW suspension which would make it sit 10 mm lower than US spec cars.
