Default Bit Torrent and firewall/router settings

Hey guys. I'm trying to use Azureus (bit torrent client) to download Top Gear and Fifth Gear episodes but the downloads are going very slow; like under 1kb/sec. A warning in Azureus pops up saying "If you have a router/firewall, please check that port 65214 UDP open. Decentralised tracking requires this". Can someone please tell me how to check these settings? Thank you.

torrent talk isn't really allowed on here.
Esp. if they are 5th Gear or TG torrents. :bah:

All i can point you guys to is a little known site with all the answers - google.
You might have to do some reading, but i'm sure you guys aren't lazy

try searching for BitTorrent FAQ or similar - if you are behind a router (you need to open the ports in the router config) and firewall (software) needs to be told to allow communication on specific ports.

Good luck!

i'm assuming that you guys know how bittorrent works. for azures the easiest thing to do is to go to tools and go to configuration wizard. second if you guys have firewalls make sure is in the same port. other than that dl another client like bitcoment or bitlord.

you are supposed to change the bittorent port you use to something like 53670 and add that to the allow list on your router's firewall setting. Read your routers manual, to get to the menu, you should type a specific IP address (192.168.1.1 most oftenly use) on your addressbar.

Just open your router manual and find the "port forwarding" chapter.
